Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 31st January 2025)

The World Floorball Championship Qualifications are in focus of my coverage this weekend. Nonetheless, I try to provide you with all playlists and new song release reviews as usual. Here are my Songs of the Week as of 31st January 2025.

Stanfour – Stay

My favorite song this week is Stay by Stanfour. The German pop-rock band from Föhr in North Frisia had their twentieth band anniversary last year. With In Your Arms and Wishing Well, they had two golden record singles in their home country in the late 2000’s. Let’s see what the audience feels about this one – I really like it!

Christopher – Lose A You

Christopher is a Danish artist from Frederiksberg in Greater Copenhagen. He has released six albums overall, two of them topped the Danish charts. I really like his singer-songwriter style.

Lindsay Ell feat. Nightly – I shouldn’t call you

Lindsay Ell is taking the next step on her pop career: together with the Nashville-based alternative pop band Nightly, she released I shouldn’t call you this week. Lovely one.

Werner Bekker – Coloured by Thoughts

My Songs of the Week edition this time is truly international. Werner Bekker is a singer-songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa. In May, he is touring Germany.

Victor Ray – Hearts Break and People Change

With Hearts Break and People Change, British artist Victor Ray is teasing his fourth EPI Will will be published on 11th April 2025. Starting as a street musician, some of his songs already come with tens of million streams on Spotify. Nice style.

Baba Shrimps – Small Town King

Baba Shrimps is a band from Switzerland. Their latest release is Small Town King, which the Zurich band will release later this year. Nice folk-pop style!

JC Stewart – Tomorrow

Tomorrow completes a set of five new songs by JC Steward. The Northern Irish artist already had success in 2021, when his song I Need You To Hate Me received a golden record in the Netherlands. In 2023, he reached the same award in Poland with Come Around Again.

Sunflower Bean – Champagne Taste

Sunflower Beam is a US-American rock band. Based in Glen Head on Long Island and Brooklyn, they are about to release their new album Mortal Primetime on 25th April 2025. Champagne Taste is the first appetizer – and it feels promising.

Kai Becker – Heut muss alles ans Licht

Schlager music with a touch of pop – I especially liked the raspy voice of Kai Becker. A really nice release.

James Bay feat. Jon Batiste – Sunshine In The Room

The British-US-American collaboration of James Bay and Jon Batiste spreads summer vibes in my new song list. A very groovy new track.

Blanka – Key to my Heart

Blanka Stajkow is a Polish singer and model. She became famous in 2023, when she represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool with Solo. The song topped the domestic charts and got a diamond record there. This one is another rhythmic pop track.

Marianne Rosenberg – Verlass Dich nicht auf die Liebe

The second last track of my new release list is the new song by the German schlager legend Marianne Rosenberg, who turns 70 this year. Her music feels timeless.

Dubioza Kolektiv – Balkan Boys

Last, but not least: the song which made me smile the most this week is likely Balkan Boys by Dubioza Kolektiv. The dub band from Bosnia and Herzegovina are already active since more than two decades and has released over ten albums. Fun stuff!
