In October 2023, I saw the German artist LOI on her debut headline tour in Cologne. Finally, the pop musician is ready to release her debut album. Left In Your Love will be released on 7th February 2025. I already had a listen.

 

Loi – About The Artist

Loi, whose civil name is Leonie Greiner, is a German artist from Mannheim. She was born on 3rd July 2002. Already in school years, she had some success with her music. She placed second in a nationwide song contest with a self-written track and reached the finals of the German The Voice Kids in 2017. Her breakthrough was a cover version of Blinding Lights, originally sung by The Weeknd. In the same year, 2021, she released her debut single I Follow.

Since then, she gradually boosted her career. Her biggest success so far was the 2023 single Gold, which is part of Left In Your Love. The song placed fourth in the German airplay charts and was a golden record in France and Poland. In fall 2024, Loi won the German TV show The Masked Singer, singing in a costume of a panda bear.

 

Loi – Left In Your Love – Track by Track

The seventeen track album lasts 47 minutes.

1. I Follow

I Follow is opening the album. The song starts as a slow piano-driven ballad, which is gaining much more intensity with the first chorus latest. Thereby, Loi also presents her strongest musical weapon from the very beginning. Her warm, relatable voice presents the emotions of the song in a fascinating matter and turns the song into a hymnic listen. The April 2021 song release, which has been Loi’s first single, comes with over 22 million streams on Spotify.

2. Melody

The second song of Left In Your Love is simply called Melody. Similar to the opener, the starts slowly, this time accompanied by the acoustic guitar. There are some more backing elements in the song later, but Melody is focusing on Loi’s voice majorly. Energetic moments break down and change with fine and fragile sections. Nice listen.

3. Dancing With You

Dancing With You presents a more pop-alike and rhythmic listen. Thereby, the instruments don’t need to add that much. Loi’s vocal talent is doing so much, which finally leads to an intense and present listen. While the chorus is very present, the fine stanzas beautifully keep the focus of the listener.

4. Pick Up!

The first set of songs is also looking back at the first steps of Loi’s career. Pick Up!, for example, has been released initially in February 2022. The song is pop-ish and even has some dancing vibes.

5. Prove Me Wrong

With Prove Me Wrong, the fifth track is the first new song on Loi’s debut record, which has not been released yet. The song is rhythmic and groovy. It spreads happy vibes and makes you move to its vibes. A nice one to simply enjoy Left In Your Love.

6. Breathing

Another so far unreleased track of the record is Breathing. The song is a typical Loi track, which does not need too much on the arrangement side to provide a intense atmosphere.

7. Bad Idea

Is it a bad idea is what Loi is asking in the seventh track of her debut album. The stanzas are coming with rather dark vocals and a very present drum set, while Loi is singing much higher in the very present chorus. A touch of melancholy is spread by Bad Idea, which is another 2022 single release.

8. Watch You Go

The eighth song of Left In Your Love is another track for ballad lovers. The sound of Loi’s voice is simply a beautiful fit to this personal and emotional recording. It’s not too late to make you stay. Sad story, very well presented.

9. Learn To Love Myself

Even though the track does not make that much use of drums, it feels surprisingly pop-ish. A rather monotonous piano line is taking over the rhythmic part, Overall, the song works in a rather slim range of notes and sounds. This leads to a slightly depressing listen, which touches your mind.

10. Don’t Worry About Me

Don’t Worry About Me is another piano song, which comes with rather dark and sad feelings. Again, Loi does not go for fancy sounds, complex melodies or pushing vibes. Her voice and her story are just enough to turn the song into a memorable listen.

11. Gold

It’s a bit of irony that right after this emotional moment, there is Loi’s most successful song so far. Gold feels so different. Dancing beats, happy vibes and keyboard lines which catch you and make you dance. On the other side, it is good that you have these kind of songs in her music as well. Sometimes you just need to party and dance. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the darker emotions as well.

12. Firework

What is happening after the dance-pop track Gold? Loi is going back to her very intimate, personal song style and presents Firework as the twelfth song of her album. A beautiful ballad with hymnic elements. Loi proofed already that she can impress with these kind of songs, but I especially enjoy this track,

13. I Loved

If I called Firework a “hymnic” track, I could definitely use the same attribute for I Loved again. This time, Loi is also working with a comparably rich instrumental setting. It works out well – like all songs on the album so far.

14. News

News is a fine pop track with a catching rhythm and happy vibes. This song has a lot of potential for big airplay success once the temperatures are a bit warmer. Nice track.

15. Am I Enough

The struggle about whether you are worth something, if you are good enough to be a valuable part. This is what Am I Enough is about – and the song is an absolute blast. It lead my Songs of the Week as of 17th November 2025 and still feels great to me.

16. The Way I Want It

Another Loi song which topped my Songs of the Week last year, is The Way I Want It. It was on the top of my list as of 31st May 2024. A happy pop song with summer vibes. I can still dance to it in winter 2025 – I should just adjust the clothing style to a warmer choice.

17. Left In Your Love

The title track is closing Loi’s Left In Your Love album. It is about her feelings towards her father, when Loi’s parents split up. A very touching and emotional finale.

Happy pop vibes and deep emotional tracks – Loi’s debut got it all. The key factor that turns Left In Your Love into an amazing listen is the outstanding vocal talent of the German artist. She is turning each of the seventeen songs of her 2025 release into a relatable listen. I absolutely loved listening to it.
