There were not too many album on 19th December 2025. Thus, having some blues with the Eddie Kold Band was an easy choice. On their album Blues In My Heart, they collaborate with Larry Doc Watkins. The album, which is the band’s third one overall, has been released physically beforehand.

Eddie Kold Band ft. Larry Doc Watkins – Blues In My Heart – Track by Track

The thirteen track album lasts 55 minutes.

1. Around Three Or Four

The album opens with this 4:25 minute track. The rather slow song comes with a good atmosphere. However, it does not give you a blast of energy – the listener is rather gently guided into the sound of the album. This is working fine, the instrumental parts are a treat and Watkins does a really good job on the vocal side.

2. Backpain

Backpain is a faster, playful instrumental. The band shows its instrumental excellence. The song is no pain at all, but has a lovely flow. Definitely a good choice for a blues bar stage. There are even some jazzy vibes in this one.

3. Burnin’ Outta Control

One of the longest songs of Blues In My Heart is the third one, Burnin’ Outta Control. The intro is already a happy melody with a certain ease. We gotta let it go before it burns out of control, Watkins states in the lyrics. The song is on the slower side again and comes with some nice features on the guitar side.

4. Further On Up The Road

Not only as it is a coverFurther On Up The Road is a special song. It has originally been released by Bobby Blue Bland. The song is also famous in its Eric Clapton version. In this Eddie Kold version, there are a couple of interesting guest musicians, like singer L.P. Davenport or guitarist Tom Holland. A really nice track, which also has been a single release before the album.

5. Girls

Watkins is back at the microphone for this original. Girls comes with a present rhythm and a good speed. Eddie Kold and his band nicely works with backing vocals and smart instrumental element. Some guitar parts lean towards surf rock to me.

6. Blues In My Heart

Quite close to the middle of the album, there is Blues In My Heart. The title track of the album strikes with interesting guitar lines and the soulful voice of the main vocalist. The Finnish guitarist Terho Keskitapio is in the credits of this song, he is majorly adding a guitar solo. Lukas Diehl has a really nice piano part in here as well. A nice epic work, which also profits from the backing vocals by Trina Williams.

7. I’ve Got To Find A Woman

There are no guest musicians in the seventh song. Overall, I’ve Got To Find A Woman has a bit of a darker and more rocking character than most of the songs before. The struggle of finding the right partner in life is well-messaged by Watkins, the lyrics are fun to listen to. A really nice one.

8. Last Two Dollars

The eighth song is another cover. Eddie Kold is using two guest musicians here, Honeydew Melon Davenport on the microphone and guitarist Tom Holland. They turn the song, which has originally been released by Johnnie Taylor in 1995, to a really interesting track with a very own character.

9. Lipstick On Your Bra

The other already (online-)released song of the album is Lipstock On Your Bra. Trina Williams is backing Watkins in this song again, which leads to a nice width and energy on the vocal side. The storytelling is beautiful again. Due to its ease and rhythm, there are even some pop vibes in the ninth song of Blues In My Heart.

10. Lovesick Blues

The only song on the record which in fact exceeds a five minute playtime is the Lovesick Blues. The topic of the song together with the blues vibes and Larry Doc Watkins’ voice spread a lovely blast of melancholy. Just a great fit to a great song.

11. My Whole World Shook

My Whole World Shook is one of the most groovy tracks on the album. Thus, it will especially be a treat to die-hard blues fans. It is needless to say that Larry Doc Watkins is adding to that sound a lot. Thumbs up for this song.

12. Student

She was a student during the day and a prostitute at night – I did not know that! Indeed, Eddie Kold, his band and his vocalist don’t fear to touch more spicy topics. The song of the struggle of a young lady, which also later adds some more dramatic aspects of this musical biography. Melodically, I would not rate the penultimate track of the record as one of my favorites, but I love the way these artists tell their stories.

13. Three Way Combination

Three Way Combination takes the last four minutes of Blues In My Heart. The song surprises with some funk elements and brass sounds in the background. Nonetheless, the blues groove stays present. Another song which underlines how wide the range of songs on this album is.
