Las Vegas is one of the entertainment mega-cities of the world. How could a place like this exist without a Madame Tussauds outlet? In fact, the Venetian Hotel and Casino hosts the local section of the wax museum. Here is my review.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas – Location & Admission

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is located on the very Southern part of The Venetian casino. There are escalators leading to the resort. In the middle, you turn right into the wax museum. As the casino is right on the Las Vegas Strip, you can easily integrate it into this touristic part of the city. There are numerous parking locations around. You can commute on the Strip with the Deuce bus. The closest location is Venetian.

The Merlin Entertainment-driven place is operating from 10:00 to 20:00. The ordinary walk-up price is 43.99 USD, which includes the wax figure exhibition and a Marvel 4D cinema. If you pre-book, you can safe some 5 USD. My wife and I went for a package, which includes Madame Tussauds (without Marvel Universe 4D) and a Gondola ride (shared gondola, outdoors only) at The Venetian. The pre-booked price for that is 61.99 USD plus tax. Like all tickets, prices also vary by workday and time.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas – The Visit

The setup at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is just as expected. The wax figures are having the typical good quality, the presentation is nice. However, I felt that the light and also the rooms in which they are presented are better in other places. Madame Tussauds Budapest is an excellent example for that. The figures are explained on signs, which are in English and Spanish. However, this documentation is poor in several places, where the positions of the signs do not match at all the positions of the figures. This was really bothering – we could not even identify some of the celebrities in the exhibition.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas features some 100 wax figures. Nonetheless, the wax museum feels really small. There are four dedicated zones Club TussaudsSportsMusic Icons and Viva Las Vegas (which was my favorite). Even though we took a lot of pictures and also had to wait due to other visitors at several spots, our visit was just some 35 minutes long. Based on the (typically Las Vegas…) high prices, the value for money at this place is questionable.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas – Services

The staff was friendly. However, especially at the beginning of the visit (at opening time), things did not feel coordinated. For example, the photo taking place was not manned and felt like a self-service place. One of the other services which you pass during the visit is the possibility to have a wax copy of your hand (at additional charge). Rather at the end of your tour, you can also have some drinks at a bar themed like the one at Hangover.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas – My View

Visiting Madame Tussauds Las Vegas felt disappointing. The price is high, the number of wax statues simply too low. The combo ticket with having the slightly trashy gondola ride at least lead to a slightly enjoyable experience – outside the Merlin Entertainment place.
