Flyctory.com Pros

  • Lovely songwriting
  • Beautiful and fine stories

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Just two new songs

On his Facebook page, the Danish artist He Is Tall. states I make indie song in my bedroom. The title of his sophomore EP is also rather entertaining. Is There an Encore? does not only reflect the feelings at the end of a concert, but the desire to spend some more time with a valuable person. It will be released on 3rd October 2025.

He Is Tall. – About The Artist

The civil name of He Is Tall. (indeed, writen with a dot at the end) is Troels Thorkild Sorensen. He is originally from the Aarhus region, but nowadays based in Copenhagen. In 2022, he released his debut EP It’s always been you.. In fact he is not a that tall person – but he feels to grow when being on stage with his guitar.

He Is Tall. – Is There an Encore? – Track by Track

The five track EP lasts 20 minutes.

1. Hide tonight.

The EP starts and finishes with a “new” song, while the others have been released beforehand. The song is gentle, personal and emotional and comes with beautiful lyrics and metaphors. In the first stanza, for example, the Danish artist states Our first kiss, surprisingly soft, incredibly sweet, like the syrup, you bought for me. You are into his story so quickly that you miss that Hide tonight. is an almost five minute long song.

2. Waterboy.

After the slow and emotional opener, Waterboy. is more rhythmic and overall also spreads more happy vibes. The lyrics Here comes the sunshine I can’t believe he’s mine are just in line with that. A fine melody, which is finally a shorter, but really nice listen.

3. Lemonade.

Lemonade. feels like a song in between the two first songs. On the one it spreads the warmth of Waterboy., on the other hand, it does have the thoughtful touch of Hide tonight.. He Is Tall. has a lovely way to share his emotions with music. Thus, this one is a beautiful blending of different aspects of his music.

4. I miss you and america.

I wish we grabbed a beer
At Buckhorn in Augusta
I’ll name my daughter after that Montanan town
Then I’ll tell her stories ‘bout you and your America
Empty quiet roads
Big Sky Country led us on

Out of the three songs released before the entire EP, this one fascinated me the most. The song has a lovely melodic plot, which moves between fluent folkpop sections and very reflecting parts. Again, the linkage between the story and the musical arrangement works out in a lovely way.

5. Rendsburg high bridge.

In the last song, He Is Tall. is taking us to Northern Germany. He is sharing his thoughts while crossing the Rendsburg High Bridge, a n iconic motorway bridge over the North Sea-Baltic Sea Canal. And int he very last line, the song closes with the title of the EPIs there an encore? I hope so.
