C2C Country To Country Berlin 2025 – Day 3 (09.03.2025) – Day Sessions

Three days of country music (or even four, if you include the Bluebird Cafe session on Thursday) are tiring and demanding. Thus, it was definitely interesting whether the country music fans would make it early to the daytime stages of the festival that morning. I definitely felt low energy in the morning and hoped being energized by some good performances on the 9th March 2025 day stages.

This posting comes with 571 major size pictures in the C2C 2025 Berlin section of the concert galleries.

C2C Berlin 2025 – Day 3 – Day Session Lineup

For a full lineup, please refer to my preview post. Here are the highlights of the day I picked for the final daytime session of the C2C 2025 in Berlin.

  • Kenny Foster, Jason Nix and Tyler Sjoström form the Sad Song Societyperforming at the Sound of Nashville Stage. I definitely looked forward to have these guys in focus.
  • Kaitlin Butts and her special alt-country style, it was the only day with two on-stage sessions. She also opened the day on the Pindeck Stage.
  • Kassi Ashton was back in Berlin, performing on the Alex Stage and Holler Stage, before heading to thee Spotlight stage on Friday.

C2C Berlin 2025 – Day 3 – Day Session Shows

I started the day with an artist interview with Kenny Foster, which you will be able to read soon. As I wanted to see a performance of Mary Kutter, I first headed to the Rooftop Stage. The stage has become one of my favorite ones during the days. They were a bit out of schedule, so that I even made the last two songs of Zach John King‘s set, which sounded really nice. The lively and energetic Kutter had a really nice performance. She explained that her parents typically listened to rock music. She played songs like Bad Apple and Devil’s Money from her 2024 EP. She also stated that her 2025 single Sad for Me is one of the most special songs to her.

Afterwards, I headed to the Pindeck Stage. Not the nicest place for taking pictures, but it featured two interesting artists I did not have the chance to watch them yet. The first one was Luke Borchelt, who sad that he was happy on his first ever trip abroad that people here can pronounce his surname properly (it is originally a German one). He also talked about the support by his parents. He quoted that his dad reacted on becoming a professional musican with You can do anything as long as you don’t ask for money. With Tangled In Fishnets, he presented a brand new song. Another highlight was his song Victoria telling a very special story about a roadtrip to Victoria Island.

After Borchelt, I also had a brief look into Caleb Lee Hutchinson‘s set. He presented a nice set of originals and covers, attracting quite a lot of people in the intimate stage. I really liked the parts of his performance.

Foster, Sjöström, and Nix are the Hidden Gems of C2C 2025

I just had to take a short walk up to Sound of Nashville Stage. The Heart To Heart session beforehand was absolutely packed. The more, it was somehow sad that many people left and did not stay for the Sad Song Society thereafter. Kenny Foster, Tyler Sjöström and Jason Nix did another fantastic jobs. A great leverage of their fine sense of humor and their excellent songwriting turned these sessions to my highlight of the whole festival. Bad luck that C2C Berlin promoted it in a very limited way. My highlight this time was Eastern Kentucky by Jason, which Kenny joined in. During one Sjöström song, all three artists used their guitar, which lead to a surprisingly rocking feeling in the odeon. Hope to have them back in 2026.

Sunshine Issues at Holler Stage

I really loved my first visit at Holler Stage. The British country website team are great hosts. Unfortunately, the sun was very deep on this seventh floor glass roof venue, which made it difficult to do pictures of the sessions. The first artist I watched was Kaitlin Butts. I had read good reviews about her, but haven’t been in touch with her music. I absolutely loved her traditional style sound coming with very cheeky and on point storytelling. Also her stories behind the songs were great, for example when she told about an Opry performance, after which he ran into Vince Gill. This finally lead to their duet Come Rest Your Head. Another hilarious listen was You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me).

An artist who I was really looking forward to was Kassi Ashton. Stepping on stage with two guitarists made it even more challenging to cover her set. At the beginning, she told how the record label forced her to reduce her 2024 album Made From The Dirt from 13 to ten songs. Actually, two of her first songs actually came from that album. Namely, she performed Son Of A Gun, followed by its title track. She thereafter asked the audience which kind of song they would like to listen next – having to ask one of her instrumentalists whether he knows the requested song at all. Another song I absolutely loved was I Don’t Go Back and the story behind song.
