Looking back to… Redbird Common 9th Anniversary Show (Franklin, 31st March 2026)

In 2025, I introduced concert reports in the Looking back to… format. In contrast to my ordinary concert reports, I have visited the show as a spectator and of which I share a limited number of pictures in the major Pictured Story format I have taken with my point and shoot camera. These posts are ideal for Nashville shows I visit without my full equipment. On 31st March 2026, I visited the Redbird Common 9th anniversary show in Franklin South of Music City.

The key reason for the visit was a show by Jenn Bostic, who opened the evening in a separate, wintergarden alike room of the lobby of the venue. The other artists at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center in Franklin, TN, were Brella Taylor Smith, Josh Wilson, Thunderstorm Artis, and Sam Wesley.

Williamson County Performing Arts Center – Location & Tickets

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center is a small seated venue South of the Old Town of Franklin. You should get there by car. Parking was rather easy. Also due to the adjacent school and its facilities, you should find a parking slot there. Redbird Common organizes a food truck and some merchandise during their events there. Jenn Bostic’s pre-show was held in a wintergarden-alike annex, connected to the lobby of the venue.

My wife and I had a so-called VIP ticket for the event. It allows you to enter the venue earlier (18:00 instead of 19:00), which also gives you access to reserved seats in the front of the theater. The price was ordinary tickets were significantly lower.

Redbird Common – Organisation & Artists

Redbird common organizes Christian music songwriter rounds. The first events of the Franklin association took place in smaller cafes, In the meantime, they moved to the larger venue.

Artists

The evening kicked off at 18:30 with a set by Jenn Bostic. Jenn is a singer-songwriter, who is originally from Pennsylvania. Her music is between country, pop, and religious influences.

There were four main stage artists scheduled for that evening. Josh Wilson is originally from Arkansas, but grew up in Lubbock, Texas. Next to him sat Thunderstorm Artis. He is originally from Oahu, Hawaii. The artist furthest away from home was Bella Taylor Smith. In 2021, she won The Voice Australia. However, the show rather made her do country-pop, so that she aims for a more independent career. Last, but no least, there was Sam Wesley, who short-notice replaced the originally announced David Lenard (severe illness in family). Sam is the son of Bart Millard, who leads the band Mercy Me. He is originally, from Dallas. All artists are currently or permanently based in / around Nashville.

Impressions of the 31st March 2026 Redbird Common Show

Seeing Jenn Bostic, who is a Featured Artist of Flyctory.com, on stage again, was obviously the highlight of the evening to me. In contrast to the 2025 Green Note show in London, for example, her set was (expectedly) more spiritual. She started with Easy To Love. During Jealous of the Angels / Amazing Grace, the slightly small, chatty community calmed down more and more and fascinatedly listened to Jenn’s story. In that intimate and rather warm setting, she stroke with her voice and her very powerful, strong stories.

Main Songwriters Round

After some organizational stuff and introducing the charity partner of the eventing, Jenn Bostic introduced the four artists on stage. Josh Wilson opened the round, which had three songs by each artist and took some 90 minutes. Wilson impressed with very strong messages, which had a religious background, but rather focused on values and living together. Thunderstorm Artis blew away the audience with his massive, intense voice and was also very good in explaining the stories behind him and his songs.

Bella Taylor Smith had the most straight-forward Christian and religious lyrics. She also encouraged the audience to sing a Hallelujah with her (after Josh did that before). Thereby, Smith felt really energetic, which lead to a very convincing performance as well. Last, but not least, Sam Wesley‘s song selection also lead to some really good listens. Thus, the evening at the Redbird Common anniversary show was definitely worth visiting – even if you are not religious like me.
