Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 18th October 2024)

Hungary this weekend! After my trip to Indonesia, I am back in Hungary after such a long time of absence from the Hungarian Floorball National teams and league playing on their home soil. Due to the sports reports, there are only four album reviews this week – but the Songs of the Week are – of course – delivered to you in time. A nice list of tracks between pop and rock music.

Evon Rose – Fire vs. Water

There have been a couple of really good songs this week – but the Austrian rockers Evon Rose simply won my heart. Their new song Fire vs. Water comes with an amazing chorus and a great plot. It is the second single of the upcoming album by the band founded by Andreas Schuster, after Set your Sails. Album release is 29th November 2024.

Tales of Tomorrow – Echoes of Tomorrow

The German band Tales of Tomorrow are doing straight, classic metal. Just as they do in their latest song release, Echoes of Tomorrow. It is definitely fun rocking with these guys.

Anchors & Hearts feat. All For Nothing – Call Me A Mascot (I’m Not A Saint)

Already on stage since 2012, the German melodic metalcore band Anchors & Hearts definitely have already established in the German music scene. This week, they released their new single. A really good listen with a lot of energy.

Marathonmann – Memento

There is quite a lot of German rock music at the beginning of this playlist. Marathonmann is a post-hardcore band from Munich.  They released the nice, new track Memento this week.

Lenny Bruce Jr. – Highway Song

Another act from Munich is Lenny Bruce Jr.. Highway Song is the last song release before he shares his EP Yesterdays. A nice soft-rock / pop-rock track with a beautiful melody.

Tom Westborn – Ein bisschen Wärme

Ein bisschen Wärme (“A bit of warmth”) is the title track of Tom Westborn’s upcoming album. Westborn does not only do nice German pop-rock music, but is also the working as an actor.

Ella Stern – Lügner

Some circus vibes are in this new release by Vienna artist Ella Stern. Apart from that, her new single Lügner has playful, easy pop vibes. I really enjoyed listening to it.

Carolyna feat. RGT – Eyes

Carolyna is an artist from Southern Germany. Her music is typically influenced by pop and some country vibes. Her collaboration with the German producer RGT, Eyes, definitely rather heads in the pop direction, though. A really nice song this week.

Arny Margret – I Miss You, I Do

I Miss You, I Do is the title track of Arny Margret’s upcoming album. The album will be released in March 2025. Before that, the Icelandic artist will have a short tour in late 2025 – you find the dates in my tour date overview.

Bella Poarch – Sweet Delusion

Bella Poarch has Philippine and US-American roots. She has a huge community on TikTok. She more and more also established in music streaming, where she has over two billion streams overall. This week, she shared her new song, Sweet Delusion.

Giraffenaffen feat. Tim Bendzko – Du wolltest doch die Welt retten

This song really made me smile: Tim Bendzko, a 1985-born artist from Berlin, had a huge song in 2011, when he sang Nur noch kurz die Welt retten (“Just quickly safe the world”). Now, he is teaming up with Giraffenaffen, who do songs for kids, and re-released this song with a different touch. Du wolltest Du die Welt retten roughly translates to “You said, you wanted to safe the world”. Cool one!
