Flyctory.com Cons

  • Only one new full-length track

In my Wednesday’s album posts, I typically preview albums which are about to released the following Friday. However, this time I feature an EP, which has already been released the day before I publish this posting – there has just not been time to share it before. The band name Bodysnatcher and the title Vile Conduct already suggest that this will be a rather hard sound. Release date of the six songs has been 3rd September 2024.

Bodysnatcher – About The Artists

Bodysnatcher is an US-American deathcore band. They have been founded in 2014 in Melbourne in Florida. The band started to release music in 2016, starting with the Abandonment, a seven track EP / album. With Death of Me (2018), This Heavy Void (2020), and Bleed-Abide, there have been three additional major releases in he meantime. The current line-up is a quartet, consisting of Kyle Medina (vocals), Kyle Shope (bass), Kyle Carter (guitar), and drummer Chris Whited.

Bodysnatcher – Vile Conduct – Track by Track

The six track EP lasts 17 minutes.

1. Infested

Only two tracks of the EP have not been published before its release. Thus, the six track collection starts with three already released tracks. The first one, Infested, is already the longest one of the album. Kyle Medina is warming up is growling voice, before the band is joining in with full force. With lyrics like Kill the parasite, this song might not be suitable for children. But you likely guessed that beforehand. The song is a nice listen with a good plot, with speedy episodes as well as rather slow and lamenting ones.

2. Severed

Vile Conduct continues with Severed. The song follows a similar plot idea. Like in the song before, they sound is rather straight. This leads to the situation that the dark rock power is surprisingly easy to digest. A nice track for deathcore beginners – and a great listen for fans of the genre and the band, who is scoring with a lovely simplicity.

Hatred
My only release
Malice
It changed my beliefs
Hatred
I’ve severed the ties
Malice
Keep living with your lies
I won’t let you in
Cave in

3. Human Disdain

The third single release in a row on this EP, Human Disdain, just takes some three minutes. Again, I am surprised how easily I can listen to these hard riffs, the growling and grunting of the US-Americans. The song feels very concise, so hat you quickly suppress the initial reaction in your metal heart that the song might be a bit too short.

4. Confession

Confession is just 38 seconds long and is – you guess it – an interlude. The track is something like a radio interview, before the EP is moving on to the next listen.

5. Murder8 (feat. Jamey Jasta)

For the fifth song, Murder8, Bodysnatcher join forces with Jamey Jasta. The 1977-born artist is majorly known as the frontman of Hatebreed. The additional vocalist adds a nice layer on the microphone side, which leads to duet-alike feelings. Overall, the song adds a lot of additional style and quality and overall is the right spice in this dark and hot metal curry.

6. Say Goodbye

Bodysnatcher is saying goodbye from Vile Conduct with Say Goodbye. You might be a bit of confuse of the first half a minute of this 3:12 minute track. Are they really doing some sort of ballad with church-alike organ sounds. No! After that warm-up, we are back in rough and hard sounds. A song like a hard slap in the face. I guess that’s just what Bodysnatcher followers love.

Bodysnatcher – Vile Conduct – My View

i am not a deathcore person, but I just cannot deny that Vile Conduct is a lot of fun. The only real downside of tis EP is that Bodysnatcher had released all songs but one before – at least if you exclude the interlude track. They work so wisely with different speeds and moods. The 5+1 tracks feel versatile, entertaining – and somehow simply. No frills, just a very straight deathcore song collection.
