King Tuff is presenting the album Moo. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s why I just had to have a deeper listen into this album, which has been released on 27th March 2026. Here is my review.

King Tuff – About The Artists

King Tuff is a musician from Vermont in the USA. Not too much about his bio feels being known. However, his civil name is Kyle Thomas, he became a professional musician in 2006. So far, the garage rock and indie pop artist released six studio albums. His latest one has been the 2023 one, Smalltown Stardust.

King Tuff – Moo – Track by Track

The ten song album lasts 34 minutes.

1. Twisted On A Train

King Tuff opens with one of his single releases, Twisted On A Train. The song starts as a rock’n’roll song with some alternative touch. Later, the song becomes more experimental and even has a bit of an psychedelic touch. Nonetheless, it is a good track to get into Moo.

2. Stairway To Nowhere

Other acts took a Stairway To Heaven, King Tuff’s one is leading Nowhere. The style of the song reminds of the opener, but has a very own touch. It’s more heading towards pop definitely. However, the guitars and the characteristic vocals are the key elements of this song. A nice 4:29 minute song with a good and catching melody.

But I keep on trying
Though I don’t know where I’m going
Kinda like I’m climbing
A stairway to nowhere

3. Invisible Ink

Invsible Ink is another track, which has been released before the album. This time, there are undeniable Americana influences in the song. After the first chorus, the US-American states Time goes by, in a blink like it was written in invisible ink. Again, King Tuff presents a catching, melody, the strumming guitars lead to relatable singer-songwriter vibes.

4. Landline

If you need a friend, then I’m your man – that’s how the fourth song is starting. Later, King Tuff, even explicitly states Anything you need, I can do for you dial 802-ILU-VYOU. Not the most usual way to present this topic, but Landline works out and is definitely a good one.

5. Crosseyed Critters

The way King Tuff presents very different topics in his very own style leads to a very entertaining and versatile listen. In this slower and even a bit of groovy song, Moo even becomes hilarious. Crosseyed critters and me don’t mix – that’s definitely a statement you don’t have that often in music. I smile while listening to the lyrics of this one.

6. Oil Change

After learning about King Tuff’s thoughts on Crossedeyed Critters, I was absolutely curious what he would share about an Oil Change. The song is a fast paced indie rock song, which again lives from a nice melody and the funny storytelling. And I hope he found the right lubricant to have a smooth life.

Cuz these old wheels are gettin’ tired
And I’m feelin’ kinda strange
The doctor said I’m gonna be alright
I only need a little speed
I only need an oil change

7. East of Ordinary

There’s a wind gonna come around, lift you up, lay you down
Fly you away to a little town, on the other side of nowhere
And you won’t need a whole lotta wealth
Just little green leaves and books on the shelf
A little love that rings like a bell and keeps on going

East of Ordinary is rather in the mid-tempo range, but comes with very intense guitars. The song nicely describes aiming to leave the ordinary path. The longer this four minute song takes, the more you find interesting elements in it. I really like it.

8. Unglued

You’re coming unglued – when King Tuff states this in the eighth song, there are some Tom Petty melodic vibes while listening to Moo. Of course, not only the lyrics lead to a very characteristic experience, which diverts from the music legend. Nonetheless, I love these 3:30 minutes.

9. Delusions

With DelusionsMoo has already hit its penuiltimate song. The Americana and folk vibes of the predecessor stays. However, this rather short track works much more with force produced by the guitars. The song definitely leaves a mark.

10. Backroads

Finally, King Tuff takes you to the Backroads on this 2026 album. Even though the song gains some energy over time, it is a relatively calm song. A really nice way closing the album.

On the backroads, goin’ fast
On the backroads, hit the gas
On the backroads, like a bat outta hell

King Tuff – Moo – My View

After the first few song, I wasn’t sure if this musical journey would take me to a happy place. However, the more I listened to the album, the more I liked it and I was curious about the following songs. King Tuff has its own style, which also leads to a lot of fun listening.
