Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 20th June 2025)

I’m in Las Vegas this weekend, tour-chasing Weird Al Yankovic at his Venetian shows. I am also thinking a lot about the restructuring of my website. So far, there is still new music – and some really nice listens. Here are my Songs of the Week as of 20th June 2025.

Myle & Isaak – What If

Two young German artists join forces for the first time – and make it to the top of my list of song releases. Myle is from Ravensburg in the Lake Constance region. As his mother is from New York, he is bilingual. Isaak represented Germany at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. He is also having international roots. The Minden-born artist is son of an Icelandic mother.

Laura Cox – No Need To Try Harder

My 2023 review of Laura Cox’s album Head Above Water lead to an amazing review score of 4.7. The French artist released her new song No Need To Try Harder this week. It is in fact her first single release after that great listen.

Jonathan Henrich – Day after Day

Jonathan Henrich is a truly international artist. The singer-songwriter and skilled pianist is born in Germany, but also lived in London and Los Angeles already. Thereafter, he graduated in Boston. Unfortunately, the promo did not come with too much vita about this interesting artist and his great new song. Fun fact: his father is Olli Dittrich, who is well-known in Germany as a skilled comedian and musician.

Iggi Kelly – I Follow You

One of the younger artists of the Kelly Family (or should I rather call them the “Kelly Dynasty”) is back in my Songs of the Week. The son of Patricia Kelly lead my Songs of the Week as of 24th November 2023 and was back in the category in my 10th January 2025 edition.

Tokio Hotel – How to Love

After Tokio Hotel deviated to country music, they are back with their new single How To Love. More poprock-ish and rather a sound which will please their traditional fan base. I really enjoyed their new listen.

MARF feat. Selwyn – Dollar

Dollar is an all-Dutch collaboration. Amsterdam-based producer is working with the upcoming musician for this song. A lot of summer vibes in one song. I like it.

Sophie and the Giants – A Little Bit Wild

Sophie and the Giants is a British pop singer-songwriter. This week, she shared her new single A Little Bit Wild. She will be touring Europe in fall.

Jean Paul D. feat. Baccara – Qatar My Love

The Middle East needs quite some love and support nowadays. Thus, Qatar My Love is maybe a good message these times. The song is an interesting mix of Arabic elements and die-hard Europop.

Kati K – Lukas

Suzanne Vega’s Tom’s Diner has been covered so often. Kati K’s version is definitely a creative one. The Munich-based pop artist and influencer states “Keep your hands off Lukas” based on Vega’s song. She made me smile with that one – and thus deserves a spot in this posting.

Frida Gold – Traurig x Glücklich

Frida Gold are a German band from the Ruhrgebiet region, which is active since 2007. Especially with their sophomore album Liebe ist meine Religion (“Love is my Religion”), they became huge in their home country. The golden record album topped the German charts. With Traurig x Glücklich (“Sad and happy”), they present their new single – and announce their new EP Morgenrot, which will be published on 19th September 2025.

Lyane Hegemann – Aber nicht mit mir

As this post is majorly based on a German promotion platform, I receive quite a lot of German schlager. Most of the songs don’t make it in my Songs of the Week – but this schlager-pop track really caught me. Lyane Hegemann has been huge in the past. She has been one of the singers of Xanadu and later was the voice of E-Rotic. In my 17th February 2023 post, I already shared her song Seelenfeuer.
