Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 17th April 2026)

I am still in the recovery process after a serious illness. After I had to skip the Songs of the Week as a post last week (there is still the playlist update available), I wanted to slowly get back to normal. Here are my favorite non-country releases in the week until 17th April 2026.

Julia Meladin – Rosarote Mauer

Picking my leading Song of the Week was very difficult for me this time. I simply had such a wide range of different, interesting songs this time. Finally, I went for this German pop-rock track by Julia Meladin. Her song Kein Geschenk already lead the 5th December 2025 Songs of the Week – and this week, the 2003-born artist from Brandenburg shared another really catching one. Hope you like it as well.

Stephen Sanchez – Chuck The Money

Stephen Sanchez is looking forward to 8th May 2026. On that day, he will release his third studio album Love, Love, Love. So far you can enjoy the groove of Chuck The Money. A really nice one by the Californian singer-songwriter, who combines pop, rock, and folk music in his songs.

Ruhmer – King of Things

At first sight, Ruhmer feels like an intentional misspelling of the word “Rumor”. However, the name in fact derives from Austrian musician David Ruhmer, who is the mastermind behind this project. A cool pop song with a quite unique sound. I really like it.

Widowspeak – No Driver

Widowspeak are a US American indie rock duo, consisting of Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas. No Driver will be part of their upcoming album Roses, which they will share at the beginning of June 2026. Later this year, they will be touring Europe.

Lana Del Rey – First Light

Lana Del Rey turned 40 last year. The New York City-born, eleven time Grammy Award nominated singer-songwriter released First Light this week. The sound of the track already suggests some James Bond vibes. Indeed, the song is the title track of the upcoming James Bond video game.

Kreis & Quer – Zu Spät

Kreis & Quer is a pop band from Vienna. The song deals with apocalyptic thoughts, without sounding too dramatic. A really nice composition, which stays in your mind.

Sokae feat. Phil Donay – 9 Leben

Sokae themselves describe their music as “good, old, homemade punk”. I could not describe the new song by the Southern Germans (“Nine Lives”) in a better way. Thus I simply state: enjoy!

April Art – Panic Stations

I featured the German rockers April Art multiple times already. For example, I reviewed their 2022 album P.O.K.E.R.F.A.C.E.. This week, the band around Lisa-Marie Watz released their new song, Panic Stations. I feel you might have a great rocking time with them.

Moon Shot – Hammer of Changes

Moon Shot are an alternative rock band from Helsinki in Finland. They are currently working towards their upcoming album ThunderlustHammer of Changes is the second single release of that album. Sounds promising.

Tommy Wagner – Sommermädchen bleib

Despite Sommermädchen bleib is Tommy Wagner’s debut single, I featured his music a couple of times already. The Munich artist is part of the legendary punk rock band LustfingeR (which recently lead my 27th March 2026 Songs of the Week). A really cool rock song with a lot of summer vibes.

Clemens Maria Haas – Das Glück gepachtet

Irish folk-dance meets pop, schlager – and spreads a lot of fun. Das Glück gepachtet by Clemens Maria Haas cannot deny stereotypes, but still has a really nice twists. I simply liked this song. If you are really deep into German music, you might know the artist – he is the singer of Steinwolke’s Katharine Katharine, a 1983 classic.

Jennifer Siemann – Zeichen

Zeichen (“Signs”) is the third song by Jennifer Siemann I nominate for my Songs of the Week. Her song Feiertag even lead the 28th March 2025 edition. A very interesting song in the pop and schlager sphere by the Berlin artist, who also works as a musical artist.

Olivia Rodrigo – Drop Dead

3rd April 2022 was likely the biggest day in the music career of Olivia Rodrigo. The US-American artist and actress was nominated for seven Grammy Awards and won three of them. After releasing Sour in 2021 and Guts in 2023, she announced a new album for 2026. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love will be available on 12th June 2026.

Sandra Gambino – Je pense a toi

The title of this song translates to “I Think Of You”. There are quite a lot of Enigma vibes in this new song release by Sandra Gambino. Not too surprisingly, as producer Jens Gad has also been part of the success of Michael Cretu’s project in the past. A really interesting song by the German artist from Hamburg.

Slow Leaves – Happen Like That

Slow Leaves is the artist / project name of the Canadian folk-pop singer songwriter Grant Davidson. It’s just two weeks until he is releasing his new album, The Ruins of Things Unfinished. This song is definitely promising.

Westlife – Your Love Amazes Me

At the end of November 2026, I will head to Cologne’s Lanxess Arena. My wife listened to Westlife in her younger days. The concert will be part of their Westlife 25: the Anniversary World Tour. The corresponding album, 25 – The Ultimate Collection, will be released on 8th May 2026. It will include fan favorites as well as new songs. Sounds like an interesting year for the Irish pop band from Dublin.

Lewis Capaldi – Stay Love

Another big name of pop music in my this week’s post is Lewis Capaldi. With Stay Love, the Scottish artist is finishing his EP Survive. A typical Lewis Capaldi songs, who is again creating this amazingly intimate and personal atmosphere in his release.

Revelle – Dann wird alles immer gut

My weekly new song radar this time closes with Dann wird alles immer gut (“Then, everything is turning into good”) by Austrian artist Revelle. She was born in Vienna, but nowadays lives in Germany. Revelle has released three albums so far.
