Rather short-notice, my wife and I changed our travel plans for New Year’s Eve 2024 and decided to stay in Dubai instead of going to Abu Dhabi. It was possible as a rather affordable opportunity at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City has been available. Here is my review of the Hilton hotel.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Location

The Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City is located right South of the Southern part of the Dubai Creek. It is adjacent to the V Hotel Dubai and the Habtoor Palace, other hotels and buildings are currently built South to it. It has a quite nice location, as Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall are not too far away. In the closer proximity, there are also some restaurants and a grocery store, which are helpful facilities to travelers. The hotel complex also features the La Perle show, which is more or less running daily.

The hotel is located right at Sheikh Zayed Road.. This does lead to some traffic noise, which we could even sometimes hear in our 30th floor room.the next Dubai Metro Stations is Business Bay, which is a roughly 15 minutes walk to the North, strolling along the long highway. Thus, the Hilton rather feels like a good choice if you travel by car or taxi. Valet parking is provided for free.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Room

My wife and I had booked a King Room. The booking was made by Hilton Honors points. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, we have been upgraded to a nice room on the 30th floor with a slightly obstructured view of Burj Khalifa. We really loved the view and also exploring the heavy traffic in the U.A.E. city in that area. The room was really large and came with a large work desk in the corner. However, there were some issues on the technical side. There was just one power plug on each side of the bed. On one side, it was taken by the alarm clock. Even worse, the only (!) power plug next to the work desk was taken by the hair dryer, which was located in one of the drawers with the power chords fixed. Not too surprisingly, this socket was really loose. I liked the hallway with the large cabinet, which easily fit a large suitcase and more items. The fridge was empty and could thus be stocked.

The bathroom had a separate bathtub. Its location was a bit of weird, because it was neither facing towards the window nor the TV set. I just did not get the glass wall design of the bathroom in that. The shower cabin was large and located next to the toilet with bidet, which was all very comfortable. However, we were lacking a tower and some other items in the sanitary area. There were some amenities in addition to soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, which was really nice. The bathroom was also the only room with a designated light switch. All the other lights were connected to the master switch, which was kind of strange. Apart from the issues mentioned, the room was clean and well maintained.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Executive Lounge

The Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City shares a couple of facilities with the adjacent hotels. One of them is the executive lounge, which is in fact in the V Hotel premises. This is a bit of bothering. From our 30th floor room in the Hilton, we first had to take the elevator down to ground level, take the short indoor walk to the V hotel and take the elevator up to the 30th hotel of that premise, where the lounge is located. The lounge itself was beautiful and came with one of the nicest and most iconic designs I ever had. The service in there was very good as well, the waiters were very attentive, drinks were served at the table. The happy hour snacks were a bit limited compared to other Dubai places. However, finally, I don’t feel that a lounge should really provide a full dinner, so that I was very fine with it.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Breakfast

We had the option to either go for breakfast in the lounge or use the Market restaurant on the first floor of the Hilton. The selection of items was nice, but there are definitely better Hilton places regarding that in Dubai. Due to the peak season around New Year’s Eve, the hotel was quite crowded. It was still somehow relaxed at the breakfast buffet, which felt a bit too widespread to me. On the first day, we haven’t been lead to the designated Hilton Honors Diamond members area. You have to say, though, that there are no special dishes or treatments you have when you sit there. The service was overall fine with friendly staff. However, places like the Conrad Dubai we stayed in before, simply operate in a higher level.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Service

The check-in procedures at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City worked really nice, especially regarding that the hotel was obviously well-booked during that time of year. The WiFi was fine. However, for major data transfers, I opted for mobile network connections with my U.A.E. eSIM. The hotel is sharing fitness facilities and the really nice pool area with the V Hotel nearby. Despite both hotels were well booked, the atmosphere has been comparably relaxed.

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – My View

There were some issues during the stay, e.g. service issues during breakfast, the average WiFi and the poor distribution of power outlets in the room. Nonetheless, the stay at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City was a really nice experience. The location is nice, if you travel by car (and not too nice, if you want to use Dubai Metro), the pool area and the V Hotel Executive Lounge were nice experiences as well. Last, but not least, the large room with the Burj Khalifa view was definitely a positive part of the stay.
