Flyctory.com Pros

  • Very fluent five song set
  • A touch of 90's alternative rock

Of All Things is a very interesting alternative rock band. With A Catalog of Bitter Ends, they present their second EP so far. The release date is 6th November 2026.

Of All Things – About The Artists

Of All Things is an alternative rock band from Bergen in Norway. The quartet started working together in 2020. It consists of Emma Putnam (vocals), Lars Ystebo (guitar), Andreas Siem (bass) and Lars Inge Torp (drums).  Of All Things had two major releases so far. In 2023, they published their debut EP Strawberry Wine. their first album Falling In Line With The Person In Front Of You is dated as of 20th September 2024.

Of All Things – A Catalog of Bitter Things – Track by Track

The five track EP lasts 19 minutes.

1. Wired

The opener Wired is a straight alternative rock track. It leads to some 90’s alternative vibes, with forward-marching guitar chords and a catching chorus. Definitely not a bummer – this song stays in your mind, also due to the vocals by Emma Putnam.

2. Go, Don`t Go Easy

Compared to its predecessor, Go, Don’t Go Easy feels more fluent and melodic. The frustration and struggle of the story is present, but does not lead to a negative listen. I really like this one – it is overall a nice one, which is easy to digest.

3. Gold, Graves & Hidden Guns

Gold, Graves & Hidden Guns feels a bit darker. Initially, this song feels less present than other tracks on A Catalog of Bitter Ends, but the catching chorus changes this. The song does come with some repetitions, but these rather lead to an easier listen.

4. Static

The Norwegians have released two of the songs as singles beforehand – they are closing the this set of five tracks. The first one is Static which comes with a nice melody and thus reminds a bit of Go, Don’t Go Easy. With the chorus, the fine flow is boosted by the guitar. Overall, these elements lead to an enjoyable alternative rock track.

5. They Pour, You Drink

A Catalog Of Bitter Ends closes with the five minute song They Pour, You Drink. Of All Things don’t wait too long and kick it off with quite some energy. After some three minutes, there is a break in the song, before the chucker-out of the EP gets back a bit of its energy. However, it is finally rather a longer fade-out.

Of All Things – A Catalog of Bitter Things – Spotify

I will add the Spotify widget once the EP has been published.

Of All Things – A Catalog of Bitter Things – My View

A Catalog of Bitter Things is a fun listen with nice songs which stay in your mind. The Norwegian band does not reach the Olymp of alternative rock with it, but the slightly nostalgic feelings lead to a really nice touch. Thus, they really made me smile with this five song set.

Favorite Song: Go, Don’t Go Easy
