by Happy new year! It’s time to kick off the new year with a new Songs of the Week episode. As expected, there is still a rather limited number of new songs – but I definitely had more songs to listen to than last week. Hope you enjoy listening to the songs together.
Max Allais – Wherever You Go
My first leading song of 2026 is Whereever You Go by Max Allais. He is an artist with French and New Zealand decent. He is already having 3.3 million followers on TikTok. His new song is an absolute treat.
mgk – Times of My Life
mgk (or: Machine Gun Kelly)’s new hit could be the first commercial success of he year. The US-American pop artist and rapper released Times of My Life this week – I feel it could hit the charts soon.
The Kid Laroi – Back You Were Mine
The Kid Laroi has been featured on Flyctory.com multiple times already. The Australian artist released a lovely and catching pop track this week. I am sure Back You Were Mine will have significant airtime the next weeks.
The Cumberland River Project feat. Lilia Kysil – Looking For Romance
Frank’s The Cumberland River Project is doing a fascinating range of music. His new song Looking For Romance is a mixture of black music, pop and soul. On the vocal side, he worked with Lilia Kysil – this one is working out very well!
Mörk – Gut so
Mörk released Gut so on 27th December 2025 already. He had a successful song in 2021 with Solange wir leben already. Let’s see how his new one is performing.
She – Losing Control
She is the artist name of Marie Kobylka. She is also known as the singer of the band Cosby. In her solo project, the Munich artist is delivering a straight pop track. A really good listen.
