Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice and relaxed design
  • Little lines, in contrast to lounge pass wing
  • Good food

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Lack of power outlets

As the Pearl Lounge in Abu Dhabi Airport (AUH) is contracted to Qatar Airways and Sri Lankan Airways, I visited the lounge twice on my trip to Jakarta in October 2024. There are two lounges / sections of the Pearl Lounge. One is for passengers flying in Business Class and First Class, which is part of this review. The other one is the lounge for pass and credit card holders. This one is much more popular, there are even organized waiting lines with rather long waiting times. I skipped the line – and take you to the Business and First Class section.

Pearl Lounge (Business / First) Abu Dhabi Airport – Location & Access

The lounge is located rather centrally, close to gate D43. As states above, there are in fact two lounge wings as well as the AUHotel in the same reception area. If you are traveling with a status or as a first/business class passenger, you may pass the typically longer line.

The lounge is opening 24 hours, seven days a week. As said, this part of the lounge is for contracted airline first class, business class and top status tiers only. I had a Qatar Airways First Class flight to Doha (DOH) as well as a SriLankan Business Class flight to Colombo (CMB) on my trip. Both qualified for the lounge visit.

Pearl Lounge (Business / First) Abu Dhabi Airport – Atmosphere

Once you pass the rather packed reception desk area, the Pearl Lounge features a wide space with different kinds of seating options. I favored the bistro-style seats for working, but there are also more relaxing options. Quite some seats are arranged in small “groups”, which also adds quite some privacy. On the negative side, there is the distribution of power outlets. There are simply too few of them. Quite some seats only offer USB ones, but not proper U.A.E. or international format ones. Charging your batteries before a longer flight is a quite essential part of a lounge visit to me, though. Overall, the lounge has a very relaxed, modern and friendly style.

Pearl Lounge (Business / First) Abu Dhabi Airport – Food & Drink

In addition to the slightly limited buffet, you can also order food at the Pearl Lounge in Abu Dhabi (AUH). I tried out a biryani and a curry during my two visits. In both cases, it just took a few minutes between ordering and serving the meal to your place. The buffet is rather offering you cold and sweet dishes, but is absolutely fine for a quick bite. You can help yourself with soft and hot drinks. Alcohol is served from the bar. Please note that – at least according to my information – no alcohol is served in the Pearl Lounge during Ramadan.

Pearl Lounge (Business / First) Abu Dhabi Airport – Services

Most of the services are shared among the two wings of the lounges. This includes toilets and showers, but also a spa area, luggage lockers and other services. WiFi is provided by the airport and works reliably.

Pearl Lounge (Business / First) Abu Dhabi Airport – My View

I really liked the Business and First Class wing of the Pearl Lounge. The atmosphere is very relaxed, food is absolutely fine (especially the dishes you order) and it is a nice place to hang out before your flights. The key downside is the lack of power outlets from my point of view. Nonetheless, enjoy passing the lines for the other side of the lounge – I feel you will be having a good time there.
