Flyctory.com Pros

  • Five tracks of country summer and party fun
  • Good stories and nice guest musicians

Scotty McCreery is regarded to be one of the finest artists in country music. After I featured his most recent album about a year ago, he is now back on the streaming platforms with an EP. For Scooter & Friends – you guess it – he has invited some really nice guest musicians. Here is my review.

Scotty McCreery – About The Artist

Scott Cooke McCreery is a US American country singer. The 31 year old was born on 9th October 1993 in Garner, North Carolina. In 2011, he became famous by winning the tenth session of American Idol. In the same year, he released his debut album Clear as Day, which topped the US (all genre) and US country charts. Even his Christmas album released thereafter, Christmas with Scotty McCreery (2012) peaked second in the Country Album Billboard Charts. Especially between 2017 and 2021, when five songs of the artist topped the US Country Airplays, Mc Creery was very present in the media. In May 2024, I featured his sixth and so far most recent album, Rise & FallYou also find a report of his 2019 concert in Cologne on Flyctory.com.

Scotty McCreery – Scooter & Friends – Track by Track

The five track EP lasts 18 minutes.

1. Bottle Rockets (feat. Hootie & The Blowfish)

When I listened to this May 2025 single release the first time, I loved it immediately. The stanzas feel so much like a typical Scotty McCreery one – maybe not even one of his best ones. And then, there is the chorus. It sounds sooo Hootie-alike. The blending is outstanding.

2. Swim Up Bar

I already shared my review of Niko Moon’s American Palm album this weekend. Beach country seems to be a thing right now. Scotty McCreery does it as well. No guest musician in here – but a lot of summer vibes. Love it. The lyrics are a lot of fun as well.

3. Once Upon A Bottle Of Wine (feat. Charlie Wilson)

A slow, laid back duet is the next part of Scooter & Friends. Charlie Wilson is joining McCreery – and the beach vibes continue. I really like the groove of this one, which makes it feel very modern.

4. Whiskey Said (feat. Lee Brice)

The last guest musician featured on the EP is Lee Brice. The sound is more rocking, so that the song could drive your next country party. Whiskey Said makes me move to its rhythm while writing my review, indeed.

5. Holding Down the Honky Tonk.

Scotty McCreery does the finale of his five track EP by himself. The song has a slightly more traditional touch with present steel guitar. I really like this style and sing along with Holding Down the Honky Tonk.
