I am just sitting at the American Express Centurion Lounge in Heathrow (LHR), ready to head to the United States on my first day of the 6 US States and Nashville trip. I don’t give statements like that too often – but while I prepared this posting, I felt it is could become one of the best Songs of the Week of the whole year 2025 so far. There are some really cool rock songs as well well as some really fine pop songs. Hope you enjoy my selection of new releases as much as I do.
Yungblud – Zombie
The leading song of this week is Zombie by British artist Yungblud. In three weeks, the song will be part of his upcoming album Idols. His first two albums topped the British charts. In fall, the artist from Doncaster will be touring.
Yellowcard – Better Days
The US rock band from Jacksonville released Better Days this week – and thereby also announced their new album Honestly I, which will be released on 10th October 2025. A really interesting song with punk and alternative vibes.
Indecent Behavior – The Story Never Ends
Indecent Behavior is a German rock and punk rock band. I featured their 2023 album Therapy In Melody. The album lead to a Top Pick! rating. Maybe the Saarbrücken band can connect to it with their next major release.
Rise Against – I Want It All
The melodic hardcore band Rise Against are likely one of the biggest names in this post. The US-American band, originally from Chicago, is already looking back to a 26 year old band history. This summer, they will play a couple of festivals in Europe, including the prestigious Rock am Ring, Rock am Park, Nova Rock and Download. Sounds like a lot of fun with these guys is ahead.
Brunhilde – Go With The Flow
It is just a few weeks week until Brunhilde are releasing their new album In Love Yours Hate on 4th July 2025. The metal-punk band from Erlangen North of Nuremberg thereby show their very own sound in their song release. I really like to Go With The(ir) Flow.
Miri Brook – Stärker
Stärker is just the third song of German artist and show host Miri Brook. All of her songs have been released this week. Her latest release is a really nice and partially hynnic rocker, which comes with straight and catching lyrics. Love it.
Smash Into Pieces – A Sky Full Of Stars
A Sky Full Of Stars is already the thirteenth (!) appearance of Smash Into Pieces in my Songs of the Week. This time, the Swedish alt-rockers present a rater emotional song. And we all know – nothing beats a well done rock ballad. Okay, Yungblud did this week… But it was close.
ADMT – Come Along
ADMT is another British artist from Doncaster featured this week. The artist name ADMT derives from his civil name Adam Taylor. He had a couple of quite successful tracks already, including his 2023 single Best Friend.
ASDIS – Pick Up!
The artist behind this name is Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir from Reykjavik in Iceland. With Angel Eyes, she climbed to the second spot of the German Airplay Charts. Her new song Pick Up! also spreads a lot of positive energy and makes you move. I like it!
LUNAX feat. myne – Summer Nights
Some more positive vibes and summer spirit come from LUNAX this week. The 24 year old is a DJ and producer from Northern Germany. In her teenage years, Ann-Janqueline Fischer (her civil name) was German Champion in Kickboxing. Don’t mess with that lady!
Sofia Camara – Girls Like You
Sofia Camara is a Portuguese – Canadian singer, who was born and raised in Toronto. However, she grew globally and recently supported Dean Lewis. In fall, she will be on her first headline tour. Girls Like You is a really cool pop track.
Headjet feat. Grossstadtkind – Verrückt gemacht
Headjet is a rather new band from Berlin. For their new single Verrückt gemacht, the quartet works with Anna Shirin Habedank, better known as Grossstadtkind in regards of music. A nice modern pop-rock track.
The Beaches – Did I Say Too Much
Did I Say Too Much is already the third appearances in my Songs of the Week by The Beaches. The Canadian alternative rockers are still working towards their new album release. No Hard Feelings is scheduled for late August 2025. I look forward to it.
Veronica Fusaro – No Rain No Tears
Veronica Fusaro is a Swiss–Italian pop and soul singer from Thun. Her debut EP Lost In Thought is dated as of 2016 but especially her debut album All the Colors of the Sky (2023) has been a big success and peaked fifth in the Swiss charts. The sophomore album Looking For Connection is already in the pipeline and scheduled for October 2025.
James Morrison – Fight Another Day
Fight Another Day will be the title track of the upcoming album by James Morrison. The British artist is scheduled to release the record on 6th October 2025. This musical appetizer really feels heartwarming.
Jens Marni Hansen – Lívið
I want to introduce you to Faroese music here and there. This rocking and energetic song by Jens Marni Hansen from Kollafjordur quite in the center of Streymoy is a lovely example for the rich music culture on the islands. Lívið means “Life”, by the way. A lovely listen with a great melody.
Schürzenjäger – Die pinken Haar
The roots of the Alpine rock and traditional folk band lead back to 1973. However, only Alfred Eberharter sen. (accordion) is indeed a founding member of the band. His son is the new drummer. I love to party to these intense beats.
