Swiss Cup Finals – Women Small Field – UHC BEO III – UHC Oekingen 10-11 (4-4, 2-5, 4-2)

From the Olympic Games to Kriens: just a weekend after I attended several ice hockey matches in Milan, it was time for another trip. The Swiss Cup Finals are one of my core events each year. This time, it came with a debut: for the first time on that 21st February 2026, the event was hosted at Pilatus Arena in Kriens, a city right South of Lucerne. I was really looking forward to that new experience. Unfortunately, travel times and the Nashville – Live in Concert show the day before made me miss a part of the first match of the day. In the Women’s Small Field Cup, UHC BEO III faced UHC Oekingen. As expected, there were multiple (former) big names of floorball in the rink. Here is my report.

This posting comes with a section of 300 major size pictures in the sports galleries.

UHC BEO III – UHC Oekingen – Match Facts

I arrived at the match at the end of the second period. The first period score was a draw, before Oekingen started the second period with four goals in a row. Berner Oberland was able to reduce the lead a bit – nonetheless, it was 6-9 after 40 minutes.

Berner Oberland was really strong in the last 20 minutes. Goal by goal, they managed to close up. Ursina Bauman tied the score in the 48th minute (9-9) and Andrea Sempach could add BEO’s tenth goal and Jessica Frei went for the Oekingen lead again. The momentum felt to be on the Berner Oberland side, especially after Alice Roth-Vez was sent to the penalty bench with four minutes left to play. However, there was hardly any dangerous shot during power play. BEO III acted too impatient. With 25 second left to play, Ilaria Friedli stole a long throw-out by Fabienne Aebi and scored the decider.
