Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 15th August 2025)

My week in music was quite weird. Originally, I planned for two concerts this week. The first one got cancelled as the artist became ill (shit happens), for the second one, the already confirmed photo pass had not been processed correctly and I had to go back home. Thus, I needed much more other contents than expected. The list of new songs on the German and international market was a bit of thin this week. Nonetheless, there were some very interesting releases.

Mike van Hyke – Wenn der Wind mich nicht mehr trägt

I was really impressed by the voice of Mike van Hyke and his new single. The German artist, who is originally from the Greater Stuttgart region, was a Das Supertalent TV casting show contestant, before he released his debut album in 2019. Hope you like this song as much as I do.

Phil Schaller – Was wäre wenn

It’s just six weeks ago that Phil Schaller lead the 4th July 2025 Songs of the Week with his Langeweile im Sommer. This week, he was one of my top candidates for the leading song. Was wäre wenn (“What if”) is a lovely and thoughtful German pop track.

Cat Burns – All This Love

Cat Burns returns to the Songs of the Week as well. However, his debut (and only) appearance so far was People Please, featured in my 7th October 2022 editionAll This Love is a beautiful pop track with folk vibes by the English artist from Southern London.

Into This – Listen

Into This is a pop band from Cologne. The trio released their debut album Monster We Created in 2017. This year, they are aiming to release their sophomore record, Miracle Today.

Liquidfive – Take Me Home

Liquidfive is the dance-pop project of German DJ Martin Maximilian Kotzur. He worked with multiple major artists already. This week, he makes you dance with Take Me Home – and I liked it.

Fictional – Crossroads

Fictional is a band from Hameln in Germany, who exist since the late 1990’s. On 16th October 2025, they will release their new album Some Great Constructions. The feature single Crossroads has been released in five different versions this week. I go for the single edit.

Astrid Samuelsen – Seasons

Astrid Samuelsen is an alternative rock artist from the Faroe Islands. After she had collaborated in some other songs before, Seasons is her solo debut. In September, she will be releasing the EP Who Do You Pray For.

Shoo Bee Doom – Party of One

Most of the songs this week are more or less pop tracks. The closing song Party of One is very different, though. The song starts like a traditional swing track, but then turns into a metal track. That’s how the band Sho Bee Doom from Leipzig names their music: Brass metal. Unique and fun.
