Kip Moore & Jackson Dean (25.6.2026, Cologne)

Already before the Kip Moore and Jackson Dean show on 25th June 2026, it was already clear: this one will be hot. This was not only because both artists in the lineup are absolutely fine ones in the country music scene. However, it was also about the weather. Temperatures around 37C were predicted for the Sound of Nashville show at Cologne’s Freideck. Just a week after I saw Liam St. John at the same venue, it was time for another open air show in the North of the Rheinland city in Germany.

This posting comes with 569 major size pictures as part of the concert gallery.

Freideck / Die Kantine – About The Venue

The Freideck is the open air space of Die Kantine in Niehl, a borough in the North of Cologne. While Liam St. John show was more intimate, you could expect that the audience was closer to the maximum capacity of 900. The venue is rather close to the Northern Cologne orbiter, motorway A1. Wilhelm-Sollmann-Str. stop offers tram connections (line 12, 15) to the venue. Parking is a bit of tricky around this place, though. The venue itself offers a rather limited space next to the open air area.

Kip Moore – About The Artist

Kip Moore is a US American country and country rock artist. He is originally from Tifton in Southern Georgia, where he was born on 1st April 1980. In 2008, he turned professional. In 2012, he released his debut album, Up All Night. The album peaked third in the US Country Charts and received a platinum record. A key reason for that was the single release Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck, which topped the US and Canadian country charts. The first four Kip Moore albums peaked Top 5 in the domestic country charts. In late May, he released his seventh studio album overall, Reason To Believe. I featured two Kip Moore albums, Solitary Tracks (2025) and Wild World (2020). In 2023, I reported from his show in Cologne.

Jackson Dean – About The Artist

Jackson Dean also came to Cologne, presenting a recent album release. Magnolia Sage has been published in April 2026. He was born on 6th October 2000 in Odenton, Maryland. The US American started to pursue a professional career in 2018. Before Magnolia Sage, he released two albums, Greenbroke (2022) and On the Back of My Dreams (2024). With Don’t Come Lookin (2022) and Heavens to Betsy (2024), he had two US Country Airplay Charts Top 3 releases.

Kip Moore & Jackson Dean – The Show

The concert was a two full-set show. Due to the FIFA Soccer World Cup, the evening started half an hour earlier. Jackson Dean stepped on stage roughly at 18:30 for his 75 minute set. His two openers, Wildfire and Blacktop Blues featured the current Magnolia Sage album. Dean caught the audience early in his set and Cologne swayed to the groove of Don’t Take Much of the 2022 Greenbroke album. Songs like Tennessee Moon boosted the atmosphere even more, while the venue was filling up steadily. Finally, there might have been some 700, 800 people at the Freideck, when Dean went for his last songs. He closed his set with Don’t Come Lookin’.

A some half an hour intermission gave the audience the opportunity to rehydrate – the organizers also gave some cool-down with water guns. Kip Moore greeted Cologne with a drink in his hand when stepped on stage. The opener Levee is also the opener of his album Reason To Believe. The followeing songs were Only Me and Get What You Give. Moore and his band was very energetic from the very beginning, so that Cologne had a country rock party. The first highlight of the set was Solitary Tracks. With Damn Love, the sixth song, latest, Cologne was partying with the artist and his band. Kip Moore showed a great mixture of slower and energetic songs. The show came more and more close towards 22:00, when there is typically a curfew at the Freideck. The last songs by Moore were two rather classic ones, Last Shot and Micky’s Bar. Thereafter, Sound of Nashville offered the opportunity to watch the FIFA World Cup match together.

Kip Moore & Jackson Dean – My View

The lineup already sounded amazing when Sound of Nashville announced this one. And, indeed, Kip Moore and Jackson Dean were a fabulous combination on stage. Not having a real support act, but featuring two full sets instead was a real gamechanger. Let’s hope that Germany will have some more shows in that kind of structure.
