Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 20th February 2026)

After returning from the Olympic Winter Games in Milan on Monday, I am now having a weekend full of sports and concert coverage – it’s going to be intense. I look forward to more relaxed times soon. However, this all shouldn’t stop the Flyctory.com work – and of course, my Songs of the Week. This time, I am kicking off with a German artist, who is doing admirable singer-songwriter work.

Ann Doka – Dancing With Lions

Typically, Ann Doka from Bremen would rather appear in one of my country music features. However, the teasing song for her new album Red Lines has so much rock and pop vibes that I rather went for my Songs of the Week. I really like the groovy Dancing With Lions – and look forward to her album, which will be released on 17th April 2026.

Three For Silver – Long Way Down

Three For Silver is a very interesting alternative folk project, which is organized and lead by Lucas Warford. I loved the very characteristic style of their new single Long Way Down and just had to share it with you. In March 2026, they kick off their European tour.

Temples – Jet Stream Heart

Here is a new song release by the English psychedelic rock band Temples. Even though no major release could connect to their very successful album Sun Structures (2014), they are still fun listening to.

Shinedown – Safe And Sound

Shinedown are slowly turning into the final straight towards her new studio album. The US-American rockers will be releasing EI8HT (you guess it.. .their eighth studio album…) on 29th May 2026. In late 2026, they will be touring Europe. Safe And Sound feels like a great appetizer for what lies ahead this year.

Ice Nine Kills feat. McKenna Grace – Twisting The Knife

The Boston band Ice Nine Kills is typically doing metalcore and post hardcore. However, in this collaboration with Texas actress and singer McKenna Grace, they feel a bit more gentle. A very atmospheric track full of fascinating contrasts – love it! The song is part of the soundtrack of the horror movie Scream 7.

Greyshadow – Chasing

The person behind the Austrian project Greyshadow is Gregor Wessely. It’s already quite a while ago since I featured the Vienna musician. With Start, the indie-pop/rock artist had a really nice release I shared with you in my 22nd November 2024 Songs of the Week. His new one, Chasing, is a really catchng listen.

Freya Ridings – Wild Horse

Freya Ridings is a 1994-born singer-songwriter from London. She is combining pop, folk and soul elements in her music. Ridings had two very successful single releases so far, Lost Without You (2017) and Castles (2019). Let’s see how far the ride on the Wild Horse will take her.

Fabian Harloff – Hamburg Hafenkante (Flossen Hoch!)

Fabian Harloff is majorly known as a German actor. Already at the age of 15, he was part of the TV series Ein Fall für TKKG and was part of other successful TV productions later. However, he is also rather frequently releasing music. His new song directly refers to his home town Hamburg. A nice one!

Kendall Lujan – Words That Hurt

This week, Kendall Lujan kicked off her European tour in Austria (see my Tour Date Overview). Bad luck that I cannot make it to her Cologne show, as I am in Switzerland this weekend. At least, there is a new song by the Oregon Americana-folk artist.

Virginia Ernst – Love Is The Only Thing

Viriginia Ernst is a singer-songwriter from Vienna. This week, she released the beautiful pop ballad Love Is The Only Thing. Fun fact: she is also an excellent ice hockey player and competed at five world championships. Bad luck that Austria did not qualify into Milan.

Marna Sol & the Velvet Blaze- Pain, Fire and Rage

The artist behind Marna Sol & the Velvet Blaze is Charlotte Schultz. Sounds very German at first sight, but Charlotte grew up on the Faroe Islands and is nowadays based in Copenhagen. The fine Pain, Fire and Rage is her first song under that artist name. It will be part of her upcoming album Arche / Typos.
