  • Good storytelling and songwriting
  • Individual, personal sound

In this review, I feature another debut EP. Chad Land is a country artist, who is sharing Storm Chaser on 6th February 2026. Here is my review.

CJ Land – About The Artist

Chad Jonathan land is a US-American singer-songwriter. The country artist is originally from California, but is nowadays based in Nashville. In his early musical years, Land was the guitarist and vocalist for heavy metal bands. As a solo artist, he already opened for major acts like Billy Idol. On tour, he is playing solo as well as with his Chad Land Band.

CJ Land – Storm Chaser – Track by Track

The seven song EP lasts 28 minutes.

1. Distance

A gently flowing melody welcomes the listener of Storm Chaser. CJ Land’s intense, warm voice impresses from the first moment as well. The song feels harmonic, but later also gains quite energy and feels intense. I really like Distance.

2. That’s Just Me

CJ Land caught me early at the opener – and the rather straight and traditional country vibes of That’s Just Me work out well, too. Similarly to the song before, the track takes a nice development, adding some more rocking elements to the melody. Thus, the song is suitable for classic country music listeners as well as to modern ones.

3. Where Has All The Time Gone

In the third song, the artist asks Where Has All The Time Gone?. These are also the first lyrics of the track, which overall is significantly more rocking. The stomping drums add quite power, while the howling guitars work out very well, too. You can’t deny a blues rock flavor in this one, which overall leads to a more diverse and interesting listen.

4. On Downstream

After this rocking and slightly dark experience, On Downstream initially feels significantly more easy. The present rhythm leads to an Americana-pop touch. I really like the pre-chorus and chorus of this one.

5. Storm Chaser

Five minutes – CJ Land is definitely not hailing for mainstream fame in this EP. Storm Chaser has a nice drive with rocking elements. The song has a very dramatic touch, but especially the speed and the permanent beat makes me enjoy the title track.

6. I Need Some Time

The only song CJ Land shared before EP release is I Need Some Time. After his rocking side, he is now presenting his emotional one. The four minute penultimate song is a lovely ballad with blues, rock, and country music vibes. Thereby, the song focuses on the voice of the artist, which leads to a very personal touch.

7. Looking Like Trouble

The rather short Looking Like Trouble closes the EP. Starting with a bass intro, it quickly gains speed. There is a lot of energy in these 2:46 minutes. If you are looking for a track which is pushing you , e.g. while exercising, give this one a chance.
