The Corona crisis keeps me buzy – and thus, it again took me quite a while to have a new edition of my Country Music Picks, songs, which I feel should present on this website explicitly. Here is my early April 2020 edition, mainly featuring songs released in February and March.

 

Redeye Caravan – El Muerto

After I reviewed the fascinating album Nostrum Remedium by the Greek Dark Country band Redeye Caravan, I really got a focus on the band. They still did not manage to be on Amazon Music and Spotify, but they are releasing more and more videos from that album – El Muerto is definitely worth watching.

 

Olivia Lane – The Quarantine Song

I just cannot argue against that I have a certain crush on Olivia Lane. Great artist, a very interesting Instagram feed – and her show in Hassocks near Brighton in February was also a great memory. She was one of the first artists in the country music scene releasing a Corona / Quarantine song – a self-cover of her song You Got Me. The ironic about this track: about a week later, Olivia disclosed that she was tested for Covid-19. Get better soon!

 

Buddy Brown – The Coronavirus Song

Of course, there are numerous Corona virus songs – this one by Buddy Brown made me smile quite a lot. Maybe you need a laugh as well.

 

Twinnie – Type of Girl

I feel that much with Twinnie – she is definitely not a person to be locked in – especially not in the weeks before her Hollywood Gypsie album release.

 

Gary Quinn – Tip of My Tongue

Gary Quinn is an amazing British artist. His new single Tip of My Tongue is already part of my Flyctory.com Country Music playlists. I just feel I have to add it here as well. Look forward to see Gary on stage again soon.

 

Zoee – Nashville

The Australian country artist Zoee, who is residing in the United Kingdom, released the lovely song Nashville. It is not just a nice musical love letter to Music City – the profits run into charity.

 

Sara Evans – If I Can’t Have You

I did not have this track too much in focus – but Sara Evans again delivers a great song. Superb country music artist.

 

Luke Bryan – One Margarita

Luke Bryan is also not too far away from his next album release. One Margarita is a typical Luke-party song. We might not have that many occasions to play it in summer 2020 – but the more we should enjoy these moments.

 

Hot Country Knights – Asphalt

One of the acts I was hoping to see badly during the CMA Fest 2020 is Dierks Bentley’s party music combo. The album The K is Silent to be released on 1st May is definitely promising. Here is one of their pre-released songs, Asphalt.

 

Tyron Hapi & Jordi Ireland feat. Cassadee Pope – Make You Mine

The last two songs feature two artists with other bands. Cassadee Pope playing together with Tyron Hapi and Jordi Ireland lead to a lovely country song.

 

Kesha feat. S. Simpson & B. Wilson – Resentment

This collaboration of Kesha and Sturgill Simpson is not that much on the country routes – one of my favorites when I reviewed her album High Road.
