C2C Country To Country Berlin 2025 – Day 1 (07.03.2025) – Day Sessions

Ladys and Gentlemen, welcome to the Country To Country 2025 in Berlin! After the Passionskirche in Berlin already hosted the Thursday Bluebird Cafe kick-off, Friday morning featured the first shows of the key country music festival in Germany. Here is my report from the day session (or side stages) on Friday, 7th March 2025.

This posting comes with 519 major size pictures in the C2C 2025 Berlin section of the concert galleries.

C2C Berlin 2025 – Day 1 – Day Session Lineup

Due to the many artists being on stage on the different stages, I won’t give you a full overview in the Day Session posts, but rather focusing on a few artists, which I felt being special. Detailed overviews about the artists on stage can be found in my preview posting about the festival.

  • On the Pindeck Stage, Austin Jenckes had the honor to somehow open the festival as the first act of the day.
  • An artist I was especially looking forward to was Canadian country rock artist Cory Marks. He had two sessions during the day.
  • Swiss Sid Bader was about to open the Town Square Stage. he is the only Central European artist on the C2C 2025 in Berlin.
  • Canadian Meghan Patrick was scheduled to play sets on all three days. I love the sound of the artist and hoped to see at least one of her sets on Friday.

C2C Berlin 2025 – Day 1 – Day Session Shows

Austin Jenckes opened the festival somehow, as he had the very first session of the day on the Pindeck Stage next to a bowling alley. Great to have him back in Germany. He did a lovely, very personal show. When he lost the lyrics in one of his shows, he stated Damn, I’m like this guy from 49 Winchester, reminding of the Passionskirche kick-off the day before.

Thereafter, I headed to the Sound of Nashville Stage, where I spent most of the morning and early afternoon. First of all, the cozy stage in a cinema hosted Cory Marks. You can learn more about him in the Spotlight interview with him I just released. He presented his 30 minute 2025 acoustic set for the first time, which featured originals like (Make My) Country Rock or Outlaws and Outsiders, but also a Bryan Adams coverCuts life a knife. A really good set by him.

Amazing Songwriters Rounds on the Sound of Nashville Stage

I ran into Austin Jenckes again on Sound of Nashville Stage thereafter. Alongside Drew Baldridge, he was part of the Heart To Heart songwriters round. The round was hosted by the Berlin-based German country and country rock band The BossHoss, who presented Don’t Gimme That and Dos Bros, two rather classic tracks of them, in the round. Drew Baldridge shared the story of losing his record deal and then more or less stating a nationwide tour of house concerts. According to him, the best tour ever. You definitely believed him that he does not want to do Music for Nashville, but Music for people, who love country music. Austin Jenckes again underlined his songwriting excellence and great voice, so that the audience on the rather large stage had a great time.

Thereafter, Kenny FosterTyler Sjöström, and Jason Nix hosted the Sad Song Society on the same stage. Kenny and Tyler explained that they want to have a platform for deep and thoughtful songs and appreciate that C2C Berlin is offering that platform. However, the session was very entertaining as well. This started from the artists improvising songs for the soundcheck to Sjöström remarking that Kenny looks like my wife, adding It’s your beard, actually. Forster said This is the best part of the festival, everything else is downhill. Even if there was definitely some irony in this statement, it was definitely my highlight of the day. All three artists presented amazing and deep stories. Foster, for example, shared his first song about his son. Jason Nix, who was excellent in this round, shared how he grew from poverty to a songwriter.

Halverson and Meghan Patrick

Between these rounds, I also had a brief visit at a Pindeck Stage set by Tyler Halverson. In a rather intimate atmosphere, he shared nice songs and stories, I really liked my brief time there.

One artist I was absolutely looking forward to was Meghan Patrick. The Canadian country lady had her first-ever shows in Germany that day. I saw her at the Star FM Stage in the corner of a large meal restaurant. Even though I just had a short time there (there was a scheduled press briefing, which was finally cancelled), I really loved her set and the atmosphere there.
