by Apart from my favored Hungarian national team, the Swiss Unihockey delegation competed the World Floorball Championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro. On the second match day of the Europe 2 tournament, the Swiss team faced Denmark, one of the presumably stronger opponents. Here is my match report.

Denmark – Switzerland – Match Facts
Switzerland took early control of the match. Even though Anja Wyss gave her team an early lead after three minutes, the key issue in the Swiss game was conversion. The Danish defense acted smart, putting a lot of energy to prevent dangerous attacks. Pushed by their bench, the underdog kept that score until late in the period, when Leonie Wieland (15th) and Isabelle Gerig (19th) gave the Swiss a somewhat pleasing intermission score.
The favorites came back into the second period with even more energy. 28 Swiss shots on goal in that period only lead to eight additional goals. Denmark had launched few attacks, but overall could never threaten Livia Werz, who had an six save shut-out in her national team debut. The third period continued with Swiss dominance, but with a lower score, so that finally, the Helvetics cruised home a 15-0 victory.
