Part of my first flight from new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has also been a visit at a brand new lounge. With Air France and KLM moving their operations from closed-down Terminal 2, this also meant that Air France had to open a new lounge at Terminal 3. At the time of visit, end of September 2026, it has also been the only lounge in the area for Schengen flights, i.e. Gates G and H. Here is my lounge review.

 

Air France Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Terminal 3 – Location & Access

Air France Lounge at Frankfurt (FRA), Terminal 3, is located close to the security checks. After those, passenger split up to J Gates for non-Schengen operations and G and H Gates for Schengen flights. More or less right after you entered the corridor for the Schengen Gates, there is an escalator up to the lounge area. However, this one did not work during my visit. However, there are also elevators to that level. From those, you need to take a short walk into a hallway where the lounge is located.

The lounge is operating daily from 5:00 to 21:30. Primarily, it hosts business class, first class and status members of Air France and KLM. Of course, the lounge also hosts passengers meeting these requirements from other SkyTeam airlines. For example, I had a business class flight with Air Europa. However, I would have been eligable as Air France Flying Blue Platinum member anyway. Due to its location, you might even visit the lounge before a Non-Schengen flight, you might even visit it with non-Schengen SkyTeam flights, e.g. with Delta. However, there is a dedicated  SkyTeam Lounge in that area. On top of that, Air France is offering lounge service for passengers of other airlines. For example, Icelandair passengers with a flexible Saga Premium Class ticket from Frankfurt may use the lounge as well.

 

Air France Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Terminal 3 – Atmosphere

You can’t say that the previous Air France Lounge at Terminal 2 has been a beauty. The more, visiting the Air France Lounge at Frankfurt (FRA) Terminal 3 feels overwhelming. The capacity is still rather compact, as the lounge offers 120 seats roughly. However, there is a much more modern design, which is branded in style of the French airline. The large window offers nice views of the flight operations at Germany’s largest airport. There are also dedicated working areas, including a phone cabin.

 

Another new feature of the lounge is a dedicated section for Flying Blue Ultimate passengers. Another very valuable upgrade of the new Air France lounge compared to the legacy one: it got toilets – you had to leave the lounge for that kind of business in Terminal 2 days.

 

Air France Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Terminal 3 – Food & Drink

I visited the lounge during breakfast service. The food service as quite in line with other smaller Air France lounges. The selection is slightly on the limited side, but the quality of food was absolutely nice. Maybe, there is an upgrade when this part of the airport is more busy. On that Friday morning, there were just a couple of guests.

Most soft drinks are served in bottles from a fridge. There is also a fridge with beer and some spirits. For some caffeine in the morning, there is – of course – also a coffee machine.

The staff was very friendly. However, as said, the lounge was almost empty so that everyone had been really relaxed. WiFi is provided from the airport and works very well.

 

Air France Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Terminal 3 – My View

Well done, Air France. Your new lounge in Frankfurt is a beauty – and such an upgrade to the former one in Terminal 2. The food and beverage offers were a bit of limited, but the friendly and modern design as well as the nice view of the airport compensates it quite a bunch. I enjoyed my hang out there before my flight a bunch!
