The last weeks have simply been too much work and hassle. Thus, I decided to turn a trip to Vienna this weekend to a relax trip. My this week’s list of new releases has a really nice and wide range of very different new tracks. I hope you like it.
Julian Reim – Nie Wieder
If featured Julian Reim a few times already – including his 2022 album In meinem Kopf. Now, the son of Matthias Reim finally makes it to the top of my Songs of the Week. Instead of schlager (where he has been typically based so far), Nie Wieder is a lovely German pop song.
Dennis Kiss – Afterhour
Dennis Kiss is a German–Swiss musician, who is based in Hamburg. This week he released a double single, Afterhour and Silhouette. I went for the A-side. I guess that the two songs will be part of the setlist when Kiss is going on tour in October and November 2025.
Paul Sies – Laura Julia Anna Maria
Paul Sies is a 1994-born German musician and artist. He grew up in Darmstadt and had his first theater roles in the late 2010’s. In 2019, he released his debut album Die echte Welt (“The real world”). In a hilarious way, the song deals with the randomness of today’s world.
Bryan Adams – A Little More Understanding
Another new song the by the Canadian rocker Bryan Adams. The countdown towards his new album Roll With The Punches is ticking down already. Fans will be able to listen to the full set of songs on 29th August 2025 – this weekend, they can rock with that song.
Alkaline Trio – Oblivion
Next year, the Chicago-origin punk rock band Alkaline Trio is celebrating their thirtieth band anniversary. In 2024 they have released their latest album – now they share Oblivion – a really nice one.
Nevertel – Some Things
My Songs of the Week stay in North America. Nevertel are a trio from Tampa in Florida. The 2014-founded rock band is about to share their new album Start Again on 12th September 2025. Some Things is full of struggle, but also a really good listen.
Seraina Telli – Consequences
Seraina Telli has been one of the support acts at the Visions of Atlantis show I featured in September 2024 in Essen. I really liked the Swiss artist on stage – the more I love to share her new song Consequences with you this week. Hope you enjoy rocking with her.
Mono Inc. – Abendrot
Abendrot is one of the last steps, before Mono Inc. finally releases their new album Darkness. I can’t wait to share my thoughts about the 15th August 2025 publication with you. The single features for it have been very promising so far. This explicitly includes the German band’s new one, Abendrot.
Good Charlotte – Stepper
Good Charlotte had their first appearance in my Songs of the Week rather recently, in my 27th June 2025 edition. The pop-punk band from Maryland is back today with Stepper. Maybe, Joel and Benji Madden will be back soon – their new album Motel Du Cap will be released on 8th August 2025.
Robbie Williams – Spies
A big name, a big musician – and (as expected) a great song: Robbie Williams released his new song Spies this week. The song is part of his new album Britpop, which will be released in October 2025. Before the release, you might already listen to the new songs when he is touring Europe.
Justin Jesso – Unreasonable
You don’t know Justin Jesso? The Chicago-origin artist has been the voice of Stargazing by Kygo. Nowadays, he is living in Los Angeles. A really nice and energetic song.
Phil Young – Little Moments
The Cologne artist Phil Young is back at Flyctory.com. This week, he released his new song Little Moments – I absolutely enjoyed the listen. There will be a few gigs in the Rheinland and Ruhrgebiet region in summer.
Hvarv – Leitar tu elskandi?
I am really delighted that the Faroese music scene is growing – some acts are also coming back. Hvarv is a band, which has been very active in the mid and late 1990’s. Now, the septet with Dagfinn Olsen and Hjalmar Magnussen released a new track. The title of the slow song, by the way, translates to “Are you looking for a lover?”.
Aaron Rowe – Talking With You
The last song is by Aaron Rowe from Dublin. The Irish singer-songwriter released the lovely and very personal Talking With You this week – a lovely and emotional finale of my Songs of the Week this week.
