Watching Czech ice hockey Extraliga team Rytiri Kladno has been my first travel highlight of the year 2025. In order to have short commutes to and from the match, I went for a local hotel, which is in close proximity. Thus, I opted for the Sport Hotel Sletiste, which is very close to the venue. Here is my first hotel review from Czechia.
Sport Hotel Sletiste – Location
The hotel is located in the sports park of Kladno, which is in West of the city. Sport Hotel Sletiste is located behind the major sports hall and the Aquapark swimming pool. It feels a bit like a backyard, which also lead to a very quiet atmosphere. There are not too many services like restaurants or grocery stores in close proximity. CEZ Arena, home ice of Rytiri Kladno, is a some ten minutes walk away.
If you use public transport, you can walk from Kladno Mesto, which is a train station regularly connecting to Prague. In front of the sports hall, there is also the Aquapark station, which is served by bus line 605 If you come by car, the hotel is offering free parking. You just have to deposit 100 CZK for the parking pass.
Sport Hotel Sletiste – Room
I had booked a double or twin room for one night, Friday to Saturday in January 2025. The booking was handled by booking.com. Including breakfast, the room rate was 63.02 EUR, plus a small city tax fee I had to pay in the hotel. The reception is on the first floor (the floor above ground floor), my room was on the second floor. All rooms are named and numbered after local sports legends – you could even sleep in the Jaromir Jagr room numbered 68. My room had the number 1959, themed and named after ice hockey player Stanislav Bacilek. I really liked the room with two separate beds, which was much more comfortable than expected. The room was really perfect for my reasons, coming with a fridge, a large work desk and a nice distribution of power outlets.
The shower bathroom was really nice as well. The shower door and the bathroom door interfered a bit, as they opened into the same space. Basic amenities were provided. The room was absolutely well maintained and clean, as well as the whole room and hotel.
Sport Hotel Sletiste – Breakfast
Breakfast was served in a conference room in the upper floor. The Satuday and Sunday time was 7:00 to 10:00, weekdays are 30 minutes earlier. The breakfast room was really nice and had a good capacity. I also liked the buffet, which came with a decent collection of warm and cold items. Sport Hotel Sletiste also drove the good, old pancake machine. I really liked the beginning of the day in Kladno.
Sport Hotel Sletiste – Service
The staff in the hotel was really nice and helpful. There is even a 24 hour reception, but you can open the hotel door with your room key in night times. WiFi in the hotel worked well. I had slight issues with it in the morning.
Sport Hotel Sletiste – My View
The stay in Kladno was a really good one. The room was really nice, the staff and breakfast was a really good experience as well. Overall, it was a great value for money. Whenever I might have a photo trip in the region, I will definitely keep that place in mind as it felt like a perfect match for my typical travel needs.
