I am currently on my first trip ever to the Southern Hemisphere. As expected, the German music market on 4th October 2024 is a bit of thin, as there has been the National Holiday on Thursday. Thus, there is just a brief selection of new releases this week. My Songs of the Week kick off with a good friend of my project, in an unusual genre.
Lindsay Ell – Story I Tell Myself
The lovely Canadian artist Lindsay Ell moves from country music to pop – and does this amazing new release this Friday. It was an easy choice to put her on the top of my list. Her new EP is announced for 25th October 2024.
Kayla Krystin – Queen of Hearts
If you would solely listen to Queen of Hearts, you might guess that the artist is a US-American pop lady. However, Kayla Krystyn is from Austria and feels to conquer the pop music scene there more and more. I feel that this one could boost her career even more.
Later – Golden Bay
Golden Bay is not only a single release by Later, but will also be the title song of the band’s upcoming album. A very interesting release by the pop-rock quartet from Paris, France.
Juli Gilde – Innenhof
Juli Gilde is a 2002-born German artist from Berlin. With her 2022 EP French Bookwood, she already drew quite some attention. One year later, there was a second EP release. The indie-pop artist is working towards her debut album, which will be released in the first half of 2025. In March 2025, she will also tour Germany. So far, we can enjoy single releases by her… like this one.
Heiner Lürig – Du hast die Wahl
Heiner Lürig is doing typical German singer-songwriter music. The native Hanover artist is also composer and wrote musicals. The lyrics of his new song, however, has been written by Heinz Rudolf Kunze. A great match.
Finch x JBS – Das geht vorbei
Finch is working towards his new album Schluss mit lustig. This week, the German rapper released this impressing collaboration with German artist. A really catching one.
Mccoy – Golden
Mccoy is an artist from Bend in Oregon. The US American artist had an episode in London, before moving back to the States. A really nice new release.
Midnight Spectra – The Love of My Life
Midnight Spectra is a new synth-pop project by the German artist Thomas Kleeblatt. I really like the melody of the song, even though I feel that overall, there is even more potential in it.
