Recently, I fixed another trip to Las Vegas. Weird Al Yankovic will play multiple shows at the Venetian Theater in June 2025. I have been to this place rather recently, in December 2023. Similar to the Pictured Story I already shared in here with you about Cesars Palace (which is more or less across the road), I take you to the fascinating (but artificial) world of Las Vegas. Here are my impressions of the Venetian Resort. A special add-on is to take you on one of their gondola rides.
Venetian Resort – Location & Transport
The Venetian is one of the largest casino resorts on the Las Vegas Blvd (or simple: the strip). Treasure Island is located opposite the Strip, the Harrah’s and Cesars Palace are in close distance. The Venetian hosts multiple venues, hotels and restaurants and is also directly connected to the Sphere. Apart from the services offered within their premises, you have of course all the Las Vegas central options to have fun and spend a lot of money around.
If you want to concentrate on the Strip and nearby attractions, you might not rent a car to get to the Venetian, but just grab an Uber from the airport. There is a DEUCE bus stop in front of the hotel, which is running up and down the strip. The Las Vegas Monorail stops at the The Harrah’s & LINQ station on the rear side of the resort.
Outside Views of Venetian Resort
The Venetian Resort shall reflect Venice in Italy. It does it as good as Las Vegas can do – and is thereby also very impressing. The Markus Tower and the Rialto Bridge copies are likely the most striking elements of the resort. Of course, there are also escalators and other services, which lead to a convenient visit. You might not find them in the real Venice. The Venetian is a very posh spot and belongs to the more pricey options in Central Las Vegas.
Inside the Venetian Resort
The public part of the interior of the hotel is even more posh than it might look on the outside. Especially the indoor shopping mall has quite some style. It also features canals, on which you can have gondola rides (see below). Apart from the opportunity to gamble in their casino, there are numerous famous brands for some shopping and dining. Not too surprisingly, the Venetian also features an outlet of Carlo’s Bakery. In a previous Pictured Story, I took you already to their first store in Hoboken, NJ.
(Outdoor) Venetian Gondola Ride
A special add-on to our visit at the Venetian was having a gondola ride. The price for the experience is 39 USD per person. There two rides, one on the indoor canals of the resort and one outside. Our ride – outdoor only – was included in a combined ticket with Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, which is also located on the Venetian grounds. If you are on off-peak times, chances are low that you do the shared ride with another party. There are also private gondola tours, which are very expansive, but save the romantic feelings. Our trip took some 12 minutes. The guide was nice and also sang some songs for us. She was not Italian, but a US-American girl, though. Nonetheless, it is a somehow nice experience, which might, however, not be worth the full price.
