The country music September 2024 is in the books. At least in regards of my Country Music Picks, which feature the week of the first Friday of a month until the week of the last Friday of it. There was quite a bunch of interesting new music available and there were some concerts and other stuff – so my list of really nice new songs, which did not make it to my playlists, is rather long. As always (see below), I changed the songs in my playlist accordingly.
New Songs of the Week of 6th September 2024
I had quite a nice of new releases and songs from new albums that week:
JD Clayton – Dance Another Dance
His own homepage of the Arkansas artist states JD Clayton delivers a timeless form of country–rock. His 6th September single release could not be described better than that.
Jon Pardi – Friday Night Heartbreaker
The first big name in my list of September 2024 new songs is Jon Pardi. Right at the beginning, he released this cool and groovy Friday Night Heartbreak. Cool listen.
Julia Cole – He Was You
Female country artist Julia Cole is one of the most frequently listed ones in my posts and playlists. The Texas-origin lady is simply that creative and releases so much music in good quality. He Was You is another of these songs. I am deeply impressed.
Canaan Cox – Something to Me
The North Carolina native Canaan Cox is another artists, who appears on Flyctory.com rather frequently. He is doing well told stories and has a lovely mainstream sound. Something to Me is a song, which stays in your mind.
Anslee Davidson – Praying in a Bar
Georgia is home to many talented country music artists. Anslee Davidson is one of them. Her new song Praying in a bar is another nice one from her – it definitely deserves attention.
Matthew West feat. Anne Wilson – Last Page of the Bible
The last song I feature as of the first week of September 2024 is this duet. I am not too keen on that religious reference to enjoy the song. Regardless of that, the song is areally nice listen.
New Songs of the Week of 13th September 2024
This week, the list of new releases was huge. Thus, my country week additions as of 13th September 2024 is long as well.
Margo Price feat. Billy Strings – Too Stoned To Cry
The first song I feature in here as of 13th September 2024 is an amazing, traditional country-style duet between two legends of the genre. Very condensed, but thus also intense sound by Margo Price and Billy Strings.
Becca Bowen – Tangled in Your Love
I am not sorting songs in this list in any way. Thus, the nostalgic feeling Margo Price and Billy Strings created is followed by the modern country powerhouse Becca Bowen. A very energetic song with a stomping rhythm – but still a very clear country music sound. Great one.
Emily Frembgen – Hard 2 Love
Emily Fremgen released her album No Hard Feelings that weekend. A selection of nine, mostly very fine songs with a slight folk music touch. I absolutely enjoy listening to this gentle melody
Erin Kinsey – Gettin’ Away With It
Guitar riffs, powerful drumming – Texas-origin Erin Kinsey is representing typical powerful, rocking, modern country music. Especially the chorus of Gettin’ Away With It caught me.
Jana Kramer – Warrior
In my earlier country music years, I have been a big fan of Jana Kramer and her music. However, I lost a bit of focus of her in recent times. The more, I enjoyed running into this new piano ballad. By the way, Kramer just married former Scottish soccer player Allan Russell in July – congrats.
Julia Vos – Somebody
Another emotional country ballad is Somebody by Julia Vos. A beautiful listen by the Canadian artist, who is originally from Edmonton.
Blanco Brown – Back 2 Basics
Blanco Brown is one of these very unique, but fascinating people in the country music scene. His blending of the genre with R’n’B elements typically leads to very relatable, groovy songs. Just light his new one, Back 2 Basics.
Heyley Jensen – Outskirts
Heyley Jensen is one of the very interesting modern country artists from Australia. On 13th September 2023, she released her single Outskirts. I absolutely love this energetic one.
Tucker Wetmore – Silverado Blue
Tucker Wetmore originally aimed for an American Football career. However, an injury made him move to Nashville and aim on country music. He already had two RIAA golden singles in 2024 – let’s see if Silverado Blue can give him another one.
Anne Wilson – Stand
Anne Wilson from Lexington in Kentucky is one of the upcoming artists in the Christian country music scene. Her first two albums My Jesus (2022) and Rebel (2024) both topped the US Christian Charts. The latter was also a Top 10 US Country album.
Matt Oakley – Soldier’s Son
US East Coast artist Matt Oakley states I’m proud to be a soldier’s son. The song is definitely heartwarming for stereotypical country music listeners. And, indeed, it is a nice personal performance.
Brett Kissel – Another One
The fact that I had to move songs like Another One by Canadian Brett Kissel into the Country Music Picks illustrates how much great music had been released on that week. A really good single release!
New Songs of the Week of 20th September 2024
Wow, there was a heck of new country music releases that week again. Feels like the first artists position already to grab their bite from the Christmas business cake. Here are my picks of the week of 20th September 2024.
Chase Rice – Hey God It’s Me Again
One of the most interesting releases of that week (at least the ones I did not cover)is Chase Rice’s album Go Down Singin’. Eleven tracks with three songs previously released. A nice album, I went for its fourth song.
Christian Hayes – Black Gold
Unfortunately, I don’t have too much bio information. Based on that, his 20th September 2024 Last I Love You is his debut EP. I went for the opening track, Black Gold.
Shaylen – To Tell You The Truth
Shaylen is an country artist, who was born in Chattanooga, but grew up in Dallas. Now, she moved to Nashville to push her country music career. Her new song To Tell You The Truth could be a nice step towards it.
More Than Words – Here’s To The Good Times
More Than Words and their single release Here’s To The Good Times represent the German country music scene that week. A nice, typical song by the patchwork family trio.
Billy Strings – Seven Weeks in Country
William Apostol aka Billy Strings released a new single on Friday, 20th September 2024, just one week before the release of his album Highway Prayers. A nice final appetizer towards the record release.
Twinnie – Hypothetically
After German artists, here is the new song by the lovely female country singer from the United Kingdom. Twinnie’s career in Nashville feels to grow steadily. Hypothetically is another nice listen by the artist.
Kassi Ashton – Made From The Dirt
I really like Kassi Ashton and her music.. Her new single Made From The Dirt is a really nice listen in my point of view. Hope you enjoy it, too.
Sheyna Gee – Neon Angel (Cowboys Never Stay)
This one is a really nice track by Sheyna Gee. The California based country and rock musician already had a some quite successful releases. This one has the potential to become another one.
Rvshvd – The 9
How do you pronounce Rvshvd? His that week album release states It’s Rashad. So this question seems to be clear. I picked the first full song of the album for my Country Music Picks.
Midland – Barely Blue
Barely Blue is not only a new song by the Texas band Midland, but also the title track of their new EP released that week. The album rather covers slow and emotional tracks. Midland works out in that style surprisingly well.
New Songs of the Week of 27th September 2024
Here are the songs I just wanted to share with you of the week of 28th June 2024.
Alejandro Preschel – Peace of Mind
Alejandro Preschel is an artist from Miami. That week, he released his new song Peace of Mind. I simply enjoyed his gentle melodies.
We Mavericks – Heart of Silver
Some Australian touch in the weekly music selection. We Mavericks are a duo from New South Wales. A really cool song.
Cody Johnson feat. Carrie Underwood – I’m Gonna Love You
I guess if you are able to record a duet with Carrie, you somehow made it. In that regard: congrats Cody Johnson for this lovely song release!
Adrien Nunez feat. Avery Ana – Low Road
Another really nice collaboration is Adrien Nunez (who is huge on social media) and Avery Anna. Together, they released Low Road on 27th September 2024. Good one!
Brooks & Dunn & Lainey Wilson – Play Something Country
It feels that there is hardly any week in which there is no collaboration or new song by Lainey Wilson. This time, she is working with Brooks & Dunn. I am just a bit afraid that one day people start getting tired of her if she appears that often.
TAELA – Rollin’
TAELA is a California musician, followed by some 200k people on Instagram. I really liked her new release Rollin’.
Lori McKenna & Stephen Wilson Jr. – The Tunnel
Another great collaboration, Lori McKenna recorded the chucker-out of her 2023 album release 1988, The Tunnel, together with Stephen Wilson Jr. It works out so well!
Logan Crosby – Forever For A While
Georgia artist Logan Crosby released his new album 2019 on 27th September 2024. I chose my favorite track for the Country Music Picks.
Soda Canter – Don’t Pray For Me
This song just missed making it to my Country Music Playlists. Soda Canter is an upcoming artist from Wilmington in North Carolina. I felt the song has a really nice, special touch.
Luke Bryan – Kansas
Overall, I had a bit of struggle with Luke Bryan’s new album Mind of a Country Boy. However, this song, Kansas, is a really nice one.
Billy Strings – Leaning on a Travelin’ Song
Fun fact about Billy Strings’ album release Highway Prayers: a German promotion platform classified his bluegrass sound as “jazz”. It’s not the first time I had that this year. I just did not have the time that week for a deeper listen – but I really enjoyed a couple of songs, including tat opener.

Country Music Picks – The Playlist
I will also present the new songs of a month in a new, dedicated playlist. The playlist will be completely flushed and reset with the next Country Music Picks posting.
