Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 30th August 2024)

I still don’t really manage creating a proper backlog of already prepared posting. Thus, the last weeks have been very intense for me. At least, you seem to like what I recently did – the website access improved quite a bit during the last two months. Thanks for you support! But now, here is my selection of new songs released this week.

Michael Schenker feat. Joey Tempest & Roger Glover – Only You Can Rock Me

What a collaboration – that’s definitely what you call a rock music supergroup! German Scorpions member Michael Schenker, Swedish Joey Tempest, singer of Europe, and British Deep Purple bassist do this amazing song together. Only you can rock me this week. I just have to honor these rock music legends..

Fury In The Slaugherhouse – Everyday Heroes

Fury recently released their tour dates for the upcoming 2025 open air tour. The German rock band from Hanover released a new song this week. The song is a really good one, having the band’s typical signature.

Tonbandgerät – So schwer / So leicht

The band name of this Hamburg-based indie-pop band translated to “Audio Tape Machine”. The song is also full of memories. However, especially the chorus stays in your mind. The band will be touring Germany in 2025.

James Bay – Easy Distraction

James Bay is one of these artists, who always feel to have a great chance making it into my Songs of the Week with new releases. This week, he did both again. The British is simply an amazing singer-songwriter.

Pat Burgener feat. Oddbox – Free

The Swiss singing sportsman is back with a new single this week. Free is a collaboration with Oddbox – Burgener used them as guest musicians before. A nice pop track with a folk music touch. He will also tour Germany, Austria and his home country from mid-October 2024.

Rea Garvey – Halo

Irish Rea Garvey released a new single this week. I am sure fans will love this very emotional and personal song on Garvey’s upcoming tour.

Chris de Sarandy – Rain

Rain by the English artist Chris de Sarandy is one of the most interesting new releases this week. What an amazing voice, which is a key driver that this song is absolutely catching. Great listen1

They Called Me Phoebe – Balloons

Since I reviewed the EP Overthinking in September 2023, I have a increased my focus on They Called Me Phoebe. This week, the young Hamburg songwriter is releasing her new song Balloons. I absolutely like it. If you rather like romantic listens, the song is also available in a ballad version.

Aaron feat. Esther Graf – Loslassen

German singer-songwriter started big in music as being part of the boy group 3A. However, he emancipated in the meantime and releases solo music. This modern pop duet with Austrian Esther Graf is definitely lovely.

Deeper You – Wenn der Mond die Sonne berührt

Cover versions make it to my Songs of the Week rather rarely. However, I just loved the rocking version of Hubert Kah’s classic by the Austrian band Deeper You. Hope you like it, too.

Florian Künstler – Stille Kämpfer

Northern German singer-songwriter makes it into my Songs of the Week for the fourth time already. This week, he shared his “Silent Fighter”. Another great, very straight and personal song. Künstler announced a tour in March and April 2024. Would love to make it there.

Jelfi – Auch wenn mein Herz daran zerbricht

The German-Austrian schlager-pop duo released their song Auch wenn mein Herz daran zerbricht (“Even if my heart is breaking due to that”) this week. I feel that they really have a lot of potential.

Toni Mogens – Guapa

Late summer vibes – Guapa by Toni Mogens is closing my Songs of the Week this time. The artist is from Karlsruhe in Germany. There are a few concert dates in September 2024.
