Flyctory.com Pros

  • As such, a really nice five track EP with good stories
  • Nice range of different songs and listens

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Only one previously unreleased track

This year, I featured Callie Twisselman the first time on stage. I loved her performance on the second day of the Sound of Nashville Open Air in my home town Cologne. The more I was flattered when she announced there will be a new EPGrowing in Grace, released on 5th December 2025. I have to limit my reviews in December 2025, unfortunately – but I just have to share my thoughts about that listen with you. Here is my review.

Callie Twisselman – About The Artist

California artist Callie Twisselman meets some country music stereotypes. She does not only tile her profiles with God and Country Music, she is also a farmer’s daughter. Nowadays, Callie is living in Greater Nashville. In 2021, she released the EP Closure. However, there was a bit of a hiatus in between, before she started sharing songs in 2024 again. Growing in Grace is her sophomore EP.

Callie Twisselman – Growing in Grace – Track by Track

The five track EP lasts 15 minutes

1. Tilted Halo

The tracklist of the EP had not been revealed before the EP release (at least, not to sources) I found. The more, I was quite unhappy when I started to review the EP. Tilted Halo is in fact the only so-far unreleased song of the set of five track. With 2:10 minutes, it is also the shortest of the songs. Tilted Halo is a fine, intime melody with Callie’s gentle voice. It spreads a good atmosphere.

2. King & Queen of Recklessness

Still recovering from the disappointment of the low level of new listens, there is King & Queen of Recklessness. The song is powerful, present, rhythmic and has a lot of a modern country music song. The second track of Growing in Grace works out really well.

3. I Pray

Regarding its musical style, I Pray rather connects to the fine, gentle, intimate style of the opener. The EP generally comes with a spiritual, personal concept – this one is an obviously religious song, which is a really nice listen overall, though. Please note that there is also a (slightly) more rhythmic and less country-alike Christian Pop version of the song.

4. God Made A Farmer

I always have to smile when I run into song titles like this. It so much reads like a typical country music stereotype. The song is a really interesting listen, though. Callie Twisselham and her team nicely mix calmer moments, rhythmic pop sections and even a bit of guitar-driven, rocking elements into this song. To me, this is the best song of the EP.

5. Ghost in My Head

When Callie released this song in September 2025, she named it her spooky season soundtrack on social media. You’ll be dancing around being the ghost in my head – even the preview picture of the music video features the core lyrics of this song. A really good and energetic song with a nice, personal touch.

Callie Twisselman – Growing in Grace – My View

Nashville, if you release music like that, you simply cannot complain that album and EP releases are more and more dying out. I really feel bad for Callie, as this strategy finally also falls back to the artist. That’s especially a shame in regards of Growing in Grace. The five track EP is in fact a really nice release with a good range of tracks. If you haven’t listened to Callie Twisselman so far, it is a good starting point to get into her music. If you follow her already, you definitely deserved more than two minutes.
