Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 13th December 2024)

I am still struggling with the Christmas presents – I am really late with this thing this year. There are still some holiday-inspired songs in my release radar, two weeks before Santa’s big party. There are also songs to make you rock and dance though. Enjoy my Songs of the Week.

Phil Schaller – Auch Chris Rea fährt nach Haus

Phil Schaller, a former The Voice Kids contestant, made me smile the most. His Christmas song (“Even Chris Rea is driving home”) is about all the stress and trouble you take to get home for the family days… and praises that it is worth it. Lovely write.

Me & The Lion – Coming Home

A nice fit to my Song of the Week is Coming Home by Me & The Lion. The duo by the couple Anika (who also wrote this song) and multi-instrumentalist and producer Leo do pop music with a focus on mental health. Beautiful listen.

Carolyna feat. RGT – With U Everyday Feels Like Christmas

RGT is the artist name of Rodolfo Guzman Tenore. The Aachen-born songwriter and producer recorded this Christmas track with Carolyna. She is an artist from the Southern German Allgäu region. A beautiful and gentle original.

Picture This – Drink It Down To There

Picture This made it into my Songs of the Week frequently with their alternative pop songs. This week, they released a rather slow song, which perfectly fits into winter time. If that song is still not smooth and gentle enough for you: the Irish also released an acoustic version of it in parallel.

The Cumberland River Project – Pictures Of The Past

Another release by Frank and his amazing The Cumberland River Project. This time, the song is strongly leaning towards pop again. Fun fact: he is not allowed to disclose the female singer, who took the lead in this lovely and fine listen.

Anthi – Unsichtbar

Anthi is an Greek artist, who is originally from Athens, but nowadays lives in Germany. According to the title of her very personal and fragile new song, she wants to be “Invisible”. A catching ballad.

Michael Marcagi – Keep Me Honest

Michael Marcagi is an US-American singer-songwriter from Cincinnati. He had his biggest success so far in Europe, though. His early 2024 single Scared to Start got a golden record in Switzerland and even went Top 10 and platinum in the United Kingdom. The song also went triple platinum in Canada and New Zealand. Keep Me Honest is a lovely new song by him.

Julian Sommer – Rockstar

Julian Sommer and his groovy, hip hop-alike pop track Rockstar made me smile this week as well. He is having a nice look on a rock star lifestyle in his new single. Fun song listening to – a more pop-ish than his typical party schlager portfolio.

The Darkness – I Hate Myself

The British take over the role and represent rock music this week. I Hate Myself is the only rock song I chose for my release radar this week. A nice track by the band around Dan and Justin Hawkins.

Filly – Fruit Punch

Filly is an Austrian pop artist. Her biggest song so far was Motorola. This week, she released the rhythmic Fruit Punch.

David Puentez – Burn

David Puentez is the artist name of German DJ and producer Benjamin Beyer. His new song Burn is a typical, catching dance pop track. A really nice one if you feel like dancing through the cold winter nights.
