Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 16th October 2026)

I am currently traveling through the United States. Hope you enjoy following my The Last Bigger & Weirder Dance trip report so far. Due to long driving distances and concerts in between, it was a bit of a challenge completing the Songs of the Week this time. Here are my favorite new song releases outside the country music sphere..

My Song of the Week:

Julia Meladin – Stille Maus

22 year old Julia Meladin is a German singer-songwriter. The pop artist released her debut album Perlen um den Hals in 2025. In November 2026, she is kicking off her Rosarote Mauern Tour (see my Tour Date Overview). This week, she released Stille Maus (“Quiet Mouse”). I absolutely love it.

Other Great Songs this Week:

Tarja feat. Apocalyptica – Tango

This week somehow feels weird to me in regards of my music postings. Just hours after I shared a new Songs of my Life episode, featuring Dutch Nightwish singer Floor Jansen, her countryman Henk Poort and their version of The Phantom of the Opera, Jansen announced that she is leaving the band. Her pre-predecessor Tarja (Turunen) released a new song this week, recorded together with the Finnish cello symphonic metal trio Apocalyptica. A really cool way to rock hard this week.

Flash Forward – Wrong

Despite Flash Forward exist more than fifteen years, Wrong leads to their first appearance in my Songs of the Week. The German alternative rock band released their first album in 2011, just one year after they have been founded. The Ruhrgebiet-based quartet is touring in November 2026, before having their year-end show in Essen on 19th December 2026.

The Bankes Brothers – Georgia Peaches

The Canadian indie rock band The Bankes Brothers are working towards their debut album. They will share For the sake of my love I hope I make it on 10th February 2027. The quartet from British Columbia in fact features the brothers Morgan and Nelson Bankes (both vocals), alongside guitarist Carson Cleaver and drummer Gray Oxley. The feature single definitely feels promising.

Kygo feat. Ava Max – Before You Know It

Scandinavia meets North America: the Norwegian producer Kygo from Bergen collaborates with US American pop icon Ava Max for Before You Know It. I really like this one – am I the only feeling feeling a slight country swag in here?

Stella Maria – Tables Turned

Stella Maria is a frequent guest in my new song presentation. This week, the young Austrian artist shared Tables Turned – and it is another song of her which stays in your mind.

Zoe Wees – Rise Again

Can Zoe Wees connect to her big hits? Especially in the early 2020’s, she had global success with Control and Girls Like Us. The German artist from Hamburg is still producing a very catching and characteristic sound. Fingers crossed that Rise Again will bring her back to the top of pop music.

Lila Drew – Til You’re Not Around

Lila Drew is an artist with British and US American roots, who was born in London and raised in Los Angeles. In March 2027, she will share her new album Sailor. Her debut album All The Places I Could Be is dated as of November 2022.
