February 2026 will feature quite a lot of sports events. Apart from the Women Under 19 World Floorball Championship Qualification and the Swiss Floorball Cup Finals, I traveled to Milan to have some impressions of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games 2026. I felt like starting with a rather easy one – the merch. For this vending purpose, the Olympic Games set up a temporary Megastore at Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral Square in Milan. I had taken you to the area on my walk along the roof of the famous church already. This time, however, it is all about Olympic shopping – given to you in my Pictured Story format.

Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games Megastore – Location & Times
The Milano Cortina Megastore opened in late November 2025. As said, it is located at one of the most iconic spots in Milan, the Piazza del Duomo. The metro lines 1 (red) and 3 (yellow) taken you to Duomo station, which is right underneath the square. It will be closed on 21st March 2026, roughly one week after the closing ceremony of the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.
From Monday to Friday, the store opens from 9:30 to 21:00. Saturday times are 10:00 to 22:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 21:00. You should expect major lines in front in case you visit Milan at peak times. As they are a sponsor of the event, the only credit card brand accepted in the store is VISA. You enter the store on the Northern end and leave it in the South.

Views of Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games Megastore
The temporary megastore is a combination of multiple large tents. There is a bit of a structure. The first, major section features apparel of all kinds. There is a bit of a structure, e.g. a split into men’s, women’s and kids’ wear, but overall, there is a touch of chaos in this part. If you for example look for venue / discipline-specific wear, it is widespread all over the tent. Another really bad thing is that there is no sorting by size (or markers with the size on the hangers). Often, two very different items of the same color were in the same closet. This, of course, lead to the situation that people are even more browsing through the clothing, taking more time and creating even more chaos. I would also expect that you would (either on signs or at the clothing itself have in indicator, which sizes are – theoretically – available. For me as a rather oversize person, this part of the store was a nightmare.
While you could easily grab some of the merchandise in 3XL or 4XL at the Paris 2024 games, Milan at most had 2XL in stock – again, theoretically. The larger size have been sold out in many occasions. Apart from that, the sizes felt smaller than in Paris (which is not that surprising, as Italian sizes tend to be a bit smaller…), which made the situation for tall and large people even worse. Some drawers were simply empty. Even though I visited the store on the first week of the Olympics on Thursday, they felt to have completely underestimated the demand for certain items.

Kids Stuff and Exclusive Items
The Team Italy fan wear was quite well stocked, though. After that, there was a section with toys and items for the younger Olympic fans (again, other parts of the kids stuff was right behind the entrance). I guess you already lead in the news that the protagonists (from a kids perspective…), the mascots Tina and Milo were as rare as good food in the Rho Ice Hockey arena. You still could buy the Flo mascots, but the main ones were out of stock already early in the tournament. Again, this suggests that they completely miscalculated the demand of the people. If you go to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) today, I guess you can still get your plushy version of Phryges (and people still love to buy it…). Thereafter, the store features a section of more exclusive clothing items as well as decoration and appliances like an Olympics-branded espresso kettle. In this part, prices are exceeding expectations, likely. Minor items like pins, badges, postcards etc. have to be bought from a counter towards the end of the megastore. Thereafter, you reach the cashier. Visa or cash only, as I mentioned. Even though I went to Central Milan just for that reason, I did not have use use any of them. By the way, if you want to beat the lines, you might also go to Rinascente department store, which is just a short walk away. They have a very similar collection of items there.
