Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice, characteristic sound
  • Good leverage between instruments and vocals

So far, the Spotify discography of the band Fallen Maze just lists four songs, all released during 2025. This already tells you that the band, which is mixing alternative rock, metal and pop elements, is reader for a big milestone: on 18th July 2025, they release their debut album Vespera. I had a listen.

Fallen Maze – About The Artists

The German band Fallen Maze exists since 2021. The quartet is based in the region around Koblenz, a city between Bonn and Frankfurt. Leandra Ringel is the singer and guitarist of the band. Kevin Stein also takes guitarist duties. The other two members are Chiara Klöppel (bass) and Marc Drzesga (drums).

Fallen Maze – Vespera – Track by Track

The ten songs album lasts 37 minutes.

1. Obliviate

The promotion platform I use also flags the album as grunge. Indeed, the voice of Leandra Ringel spreads quite a bit of this vibe. Apart from that, the brief opener sounds good, but somehow lacks a final punch of energy. I am sure that the track is a nice one in their live shows, though.

2. Chase You

Fallen Maze kick off their debut album with another track already released. I like Chase You more. It does have a stronger metal feeling. Majorly, though, it feels more balanced and better focused. Especially the chorus of the second track of the album works out well.

3. Phantom

Phantom is the first previously unreleased song on Vespera. It is slower and also has a stronger groove. Thus, it rather leans towards alternative rock. Overall, the song is a nice 3:40 minute listen with some nice guitar features.

4. Fear the Dream

In the next song, Fallen Maze Fear The Dream. The song starts slowly with some strummed guitar tunes. The very atmospheric and also melancholic style continues for a major part of the song until the guitar riffs rock harder quite immediately. This adds a lot of character and spirit to the track.

5. Stoneflower

Stoneflower feels present from the very beginning. The fresh, a bit of cheeky and happy sound of the rocker has a nice ease. I really enjoy getting caught by this listen.

6. Spirit of Times

With 4:20 minutes, Spirit of Times is the second longest song on Vespera. The plot reminds of Fear The Dream. However, the guitar raise their energy much quicker before the song turns into alternating quiet stanzas and slow, but slackly rocking choruses and bridges. A nice song – the atmosphere while listening to the fourth track was more intense, though.

7. Radiance

Radiance welcomes the listener with some appealing riffs. The Germans defined a good leverage. Thus, the song does not feel too hard to take.

8. Nebulae

The next song is the May 2025 single release Nebulae. You feel as if you could lean into the groove of this song. The melancholic vocals style by the band’s lead singer feel to be a nice fir to that.

9. Transience

Transience has been a late May 2025 release. Already due to its epic duration of six minutes, it is one of the core tracks of Vespera. The song does start slower, but invests quite well into a dramatic plot and some very characterful parts. Thus, the longer listen does not feel boring at all.

10. In Limbo

The last four minutes of the record are taken by In Limbo. The song is a slow fade-out in the album, which focuses on Leandra Ringel, while the instruments just act very limited. A nice farewell from the band’s debut.

I will add the Spotify widget once the album has been released.

Fallen Maze – Vespera – My View

Vespera is not a top notch album. However, Fallen Maze do a very nice first major step into music industry. They create a characteristic sound, without being boring or monotonous. Thus, I feel that it is a really fine debut by the Koblenz band.

Favorite Song: Spirit of Times
