Dubai is an entertainment city. It feels like you practically get anything in the city you like, as long as there are sufficient people who pay for it. One kind of sports and entertainment, which is represented surprisingly rarely is mini golf and adventure golf. As far as I know, there are just two courses in the city. One is an indoor blacklight course at Bluewaters Island, close to Ain Dubai. My wife visited the other one in late December 2024. The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club (which is as posh as it sounds) drives a small adventure golf course in their premises. Here is my review.

 

Mini Golf Dubai – Location & Admission

The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is very centrally located in Dubai. It is near the xxx road, close to Deira or the City Festival Mall. The key facilities are, of course, the golf courses. However, you can also play padel and tennis there. The ground also feature a Hyatt Regency hotel. The easiest way to get there is by car. Even if you take the Dubai Metro to the closest station, City Centre Deira, you have to walk quite a bit from the gate to the park-alike area to the in-fact golf and adventure golf grounds.

The reception of the golf club is open from 6:00 to 22:00. Based on my understanding, this is also the time you can have a game of adventure golf. The admission is 55 AED, roughly 14 EUR. With your ticket, the driving range staff (which is close to the reception) is handing over you the putters and balls. You should be aware that Mini Golf Dubai is only a six (!) hole course, so that this kind of entertainment is rather pricey.

 

Mini Golf Dubai – Atmosphere

The six lanes are located in a small, fenced area behind the driving range. Thus, it is a short distance from the reception. The lanes use artificial turf, I had the impression that the length and speed of the turf differs significantly by hole. As there is also longer turf representing the rough and no barriers, the course reminded me of Disney’s Fantasia in Orlando. However, the holes are significantly shorter and have a rather typical length.

Unfortunately, the maintenance of the course is slightly poor, compared to the posh golf club. There were some missing pieces and grooves in the ground, which make it hard to play. Some of the lanes are very sandy. I could not identify if that has been done intentionally or if it is sand from the bunkers.

 

Mini Golf Dubai – The Course

Even though it is a rather short play, you just cannot argue against that the holes are rather nice. Mini Golf Dubai tries to create proper golf courses in a significantly smaller scale. Thus, it was quite some fun from the beginning playing the first ones. All the courses play with uphill and downhill elements, which lead to interesting plays. The most challenging lanes are the fourth and the fifth hole. The fourth one is an uphill challenge with a nice curve. On the fifth one, you have to adjust your speed to a downhill section. You can select from two routes, passing a tree in the middle of the lane.

 

Mini Golf Dubai – Services

The reception staff was very friendly. We had to wait for the driving range staff for some five minutes, who was very friendly and helpful as well. Even though the website states so, there are no scorecards provided. The golf club also features a couple of restaurants so that you can have a good time

 

Mini Golf Dubai – My View

Mini Golf Dubai could be amazing. The six holes are very promising. Unfortunately, it feels that they don’t really want to drive this place and rather lean towards the other sports. If there were additional 12 adventure golf holes with a similar spirit and design, this one would be an absolute treat. Unfortunately, there are just six holes /at a too high price) and insufficient maintenance. Bad luck – I am sure many Dubai tourists would enjoy playing there.
