Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 26th July 2024)

What a week – I returned from my tennis coverage in Newport, now I am at the Olympic Games in Paris. In between (somehow), here is my latest set of new song releases. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Versengold – The Devil is a Barmaid

Versengold is a folk-rock band from Bremen in GermanThe Devil is a Barmaid is their first song in English. In fact this catching song is a cover song, the original i Kissin’ Dynamite, Southern German rock band. The folk touch with fiddle and typical folk instruments is a treat.

Blossoms – Perfect Me

The British band Blossoms from Stockport shared this new song with us this week. The band from Greater Manchester has been formed in 2013 already – and defined a very own sound. An easy choice for my Songs of the Week.

Badflower – Detroit

Badflower is another band, which has been formed in 2013. However, the rock band has been formed in Los Angeles in the United States. Nowadays, they are based in Nashville. Their new single release is named Detroit – what a geographically widespread one!

The Souls – Bangladesh

The travel through the world in this edition of my Songs of the Week continues with a stop in Asia. The band The Souls is in fact from Thun in Switzerland, but they take us to the Asian country mentally. A very nice and modern pop-rock song.

Ingolf – All Around Us

Infgolf is a composer, producer and singer-songwriter from Berlin. He also released techno tracks – this one is much braver, though. Enjoy All Around Us.

Kaleo Riot – Endless Summer

Kaleo Riot is another Germany-based act. Endless Summer is a nice good mood pop song. Hope you like it as well.

Anna-Carina Woitschak – Die Welt umarmen

This time, I also share two German schlager tracks with the, both performed by major female acts of the genre. The first one is the new release by Anna-Carina Woitschkal, Die Welt umarmen (“Embrace the World”). A really nice, powerful song.

Stefanie Hertel – Guter Mond

You just cannot take the country vibes out of Stefanie Hertel – at least the first tunes of Guter Mond strongly remind of the genre she is active in with her patchwork family band More Than Words. However, this one is a solo release – and I really like it.

Michael Spleth – Hoffnung unterm Regenbogen

Michael Spleth has accompanied me throughout my life. He did that rather less as a musician, but as a radio host, who is working in one of my favorite radio stations. This week, however, he did a music release. The song is a tune from a father to his daughter. Very touching!

Dominik Büchele – Those Who Fly

Doninik Büchele is one of the many acts, which got Initial fame in a TV talent Show. In 2009, he was a  competitor in the German version of American Idol. I really like this fine and emotional new release.

The Royal Belgian Conspiracy – Under Your Spell

You might think that The Royal Belgian Conspiracy is an act from Europe. However, the band has been formed in the Australian capital Canberra. The band’s lead Moozy E. was born in Belgium, though. A very nice, individual sound.

Tiesto & Alana Springsteen – Hot Honey

Dutch DJ Tiesto meets Nashville country music star Alana Springsteen – the result is a modern pop song. Hot Honey does not have too many vibes of Springsteen’s characteristic genre, but the songs is a really nice electronic / dance pop track.

Gwen Stefani, Anderson .Paak – Hello World

I was a bit disappointed about the very French style of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. I felt there could have been a wider, more European presentation. The official song of the Games, though, is a purely US-American work. A brave pop song under the five magical rings.
