Even though I have a long list of flights to and from London Heathrow Airport (LHR), my history with Terminal 4 is relatively sparse. As I am growing my KLM / Air France / SkyTeam status, this might change in the future, als especially the Dutch–French airline group does operate from that terminal. Before a KLM flight to Amsterdam (AMS) in July 2025, I had my first visit to their contracted lounge there, the Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 4. Here is my review.

 

Plaza Premium Lounge London (LHR) Terminal 4 – Location & Access

The lounge is located opposite to the gates 10 at Terminal 4 in Heathrow. It is a bit of walking from the security check there (some five minutes) and can be a bit of bothering if your departure gate is in the opposite direction. The directions are given clearly. However, it may still be a bit of tricky to find the lounge, as the entrance is in fact behind the main line of shops and services in the terminal.

Terminal 4 operates quite a wide range of airlines. A couple of them are contracted with the lounge. This includes SkyTeam airlines like Air France/KLM, Korean Air or China Eastern, but also operators like Royal Air Maroc. There is a dedicated second level of the lounge (which I did not visit). I guess that it is used for two Gulf carriers. The lounge is also flagged as Saudia Lounge and Etihad Lounge. The lounge, which also accepts typical lounge passes, opens daily from 5:00 to 22:00.

 

Plaza Premium Lounge London (LHR) Terminal 4 – Atmosphere

I was suprised by the size of the Plaza Premium Lounge. Even though it got more crowded after I took these pictures, it did maintain a rather relaxed and cozy style. There is a nice mixture of bistro-style seats and more comfortable options, including those with a (slightly limited) runway and apron view. Thereby, the room has some ben and sections, so that it actually feels comparably private.

I visited the lounge in the late afternoon, so that dinner service was majorly served. Also compared to the size of the lounge, there were quite a lot of nice warm and cold meal choices. The restocking went reasonably well, too.

Especially if you are into gin and tonic, the Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 4 is heaven for you. They have a wide range of different gins and also tonics. However, the alcoholic part of the bar is nice in general. Non-alcoholic beverages (apart from mixers) are majorly given by dispensers.

The staff at the lounge was vey friendly and helpful. My internet connection via WiFi worked very smoothly. There are bathrooms and showers in the lounge, the latter requires an additional charge, though.

I really liked the Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow, Terminal 4. The lounge comes with a really nice setting and smart design. Food and drinks provided, especially the gin and tonic paradise, were fine as well. I absolutely liked to work from my place, watching the place and having some nice bites before my upcoming flight.
