Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 5th September 2025)

Another week of new music is coming up – and time for another Songs of the Week edition. In a couple of weeks, there will be my 200th post of that series. This time, I am having a really wide, but high class range of songs in my weekly release radar. Hope you find some listening gems and new favorite acts in this post.

Perkele – Burn

I had quite a lot of very different songs which I really liked this week. Finally, I decided that Perkele’s Burn is the song to take the lead this time – the punk rocker simply gave me the most fun while listening. The band from Gothenburg mixes punk, rock and metal elements. Fun fact: Perkele is in fact a Finnish swear word and means something like Devil or Damn.

Velvet Rush – Shake That Thing

The Hamburg hard rockers Velvet Rush are just about to release their debut album Trail of Gold. It will be available on 26th September 2025. This song with a catching groove, which will make you move, is a promising teaser.

Ash – Which One Do You Want?

Already at the beginning of this week, the Northern Irish band Ash released a double single. I preferred Which One Do You Want? over Fun People. Both songs will be on their 3rd October 2025 album, Ad Astra.  It will be their ninth one overall. This indie rock track feels very promising.

Evon Rose – Release

I absolutely loved Evon Rose’s album Thunder Rumblingwhich I reviewed in December 2024. The Austrian rockers recorded this song among others in Spain. The track will be part of their new EP The Bond. In November 2025, they have a few shows across their home country.

The Ramona Flowers – That Summer

It’s more than two years ago, since I featured The Ramona Flowers in my Songs of the Week the last time. In March 2023, I really enjoyed listening to their Enter The Room. Now, That Summer features the 10th October album Made by Humans. It’s the band’s fourth one overall. Cool pop music with a nice British indie twist.

Andreas Vey – Fast Lane

A really nice pop song with an easy to remember style – that’s Fast Lane by Andreas Vey. Originally from East Westphalia, the German artist nowadays lives in Berlin. He already had some successful releases, like his 2021 single Strangers. Let’s see how the public likes this one.

Ellur – The Wheel

Ellur is the artist name of Ella McNamara. The British artist already released the quite successful EP God Help Me Now earlier this year. In early October, she will have a domestic tour. Many shows are already sold out.

Eleni Drake – Half Alive

British-Greek Eleni Drake uses her new song Half Alive to tease her debut album Chuck, which will be released at the end of October. I already featured her sophomore EP, Above Deep Waterin September 2024 – and look forward how her first long play will be alike.

Hondlender – Sie fühlt sich einsam

I unfortunately don’t have too much information about the German artist Michael Hondlender, who is releasing songs under his surname. The songwriter and producer is going solo in here and wrote a beautiful, touching piano ballad. Impressing.

Lina – 24/7

The beginning of 2026 will be exciting for Lina. Her new album Melodrama is scheduled to be released on 23rd January 2026, she kick off the corresponding tour in February 2026 (see my Tour Date Overview). The modern pop track 24/7 is an appetizer to what is happening – and I really like it.

Sophia x Kayef – Träum weiter

Sophia is one of the most interesting artists in the German pop scene.  Her 2024 album Wenn es sich gut anfühlt peaked fourth in the German charts, the next tour is set of for early 2026. This week, the Ruhrgebiet lady teams up with Dusseldorf artist Kayef for this very interesting duet.

Bunch of Ace – Sweet 16

Maybe, this one is the least surprising nomination of the week. First of all, I really love the music by the German teenage twin lady duo and they have been featured in my series a couple of times. More than that, I had Alandra and Alessja in my latest edition of the Spotlight interviews this week. Finally, I really enjoy how they continuously release rather different songs. This one about their 16th birthday goes with a nice 1980’s touch.

Patricia Larrass – Viel zu viel

This week’s post closes with German schlager. Patricia Larass is active in the music business since more than two decades. I really like the style of her new release Viel zu viel.
