I’m still full of memories and emotions from my recent handball trip to Oslo. The fans of the Faroe Islands were so amazing, I just had to dedicate a post to them. There was also an overwhelming number of new songs. Starting with a rocking track, there is a nice range of genres and styles this time again. Even though I had a lot of work and have to write this post during nighttime, I really loved working on these releases.
Tyketto – We Rise
Call it hard rock, classic rock or classic stadium rock – the US-American band Tyketto lead my Songs of the Week this time. If you love rock music, this song is a treat for you. Tyketto tour the United Kingdom in April 2026 and have some European festivals in summer. I’m sure these dates will be great fun.
Myrath – Soul of My Soul
The Tunisian hard rockers released a new song this week. I love Myrath and their music – and Soul of My Soul does not disappoint me at all. Great song!
Stairway To Violet – Let It Go
Stairway To Violet are about to release their debut album Invictus. The scheduled release date is 29th May 2026. Before that, though, they released Let It Go this week. A great song by the German cinematic rock band.
Def Leppard – Rejoice
The biggest name on my list of new songs this week is likely Rejoice by Def Leppard. The Sheffield rockers are still releasing great tracks. They will tour on European rock music festivals in summer, including the famous Wacken Open Air in late July.
Kapelle Petra – Nr. 1 Hit
Who does not dream of a Nr. 1 Hit (“No. 1 Hit”). Kapelle Petra does so – and released this indie-rock track. Founded in 1996 in Münster, Germany, the band is celebrating their 30th band anniversary this year. They already announced multiple concerts throughout the year. On 6th March 2026, there will be a new Kapelle Petra album.
Geier Sturzflug – Inflation
During the 1980’s Neue Deutsche Welle pop times, Geier Sturzflug’s biggest song was Bruttosozialprodukt (“Gross National Product”). The German band is not tired of social-economic topics and released Inflation this week. The humorous and ironic way of the NDW era of looking on topics still lives in this song, despite that Friedel Gerlach is the only remaining original member of the band. Without telling details, they announced an album release for this year as well.
Hanna Rautzenberg – You Made Me Hate Roxette
It really hurt me that I finally had to decide that this song s not the leading one. The decision between Tyketto and Hanna Rautzenberg was really close. The German artist tells a lovely story in her pop-rock track. Listen to her music on the upcoming tour – you find the dates in my Tour Date Overview.
Holly Humberstone – To Love Somebody
To Love Somebody is a lovely pop song by the British artist with alt-rock and indie elements. I follow the rising artist since a longer time and love how her career is developing.
Late Runner – Can U Feel It?
We are slowly heading into the Eurovision Song Contest season. The first national qualifications and selections have already taken place. Late Runner want to represent their country Denmark in Vienna in May 2026. The song of the indie-pop duo is Can U Feel It?. Good luck to Asger Tarpgaard and Tanja Forsberg Simonsen.
Haus F – Lärm
Lärm translates to “Clamor”. However, the song by Haus F definitely is not that noisy and disturbing. Furthermore, the debut single by the band from Berlin is lovely pop track. The band has been founded as a school band.
Mica Millar – A Little Bit of Me
I rarely feature soul songs in my Songs of the Week – but Mica Millar simply made me do it. The British artist announced her sophomore album for 5th June – four years after her debut Heaven Knows. A great listen.
Louis Tomlinson – Imposter
Louis Tomlinson released Imposter on Wednesday. On Friday night, when I am writing this posting, the song has almost reached one million streams on Spotify only already. Feels like the British One Direction member is going for a successful song.
Kate Delore – Ich will wieder Leben
Kate Delore’s drew some attention in 2023 already, when she released the rap track All In. Ich will wieder Leben is a very different genre and the only straight schlager track this week. A nice song with a fine voice.
Ragazzki feat. Marti Fischer & Miirtek – Ciao Ragazzki
Another song which is hoping to be a contestant at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna is Ciao Ragazzki. For the song, which has a touch of Polish and Italian pop, Ragazzki is a newly founded duo from Berlin. The first musician is nobody but Marti Fischer, who is a poular producer and YouTube artist. The second artist involved is Miirtek, whose civil name is David Staroczak. The song is definitely unique – let’s see if it indeed wins the German qualifications.
Schall und Brauch – Lieder von Früher
Schall und Brauch reflects about the “Songs of earlier days” in their new song. The Dusseldorf band is thereby especially looking back at the street carnival season, which will soon kick off in their Rheinland region. Nice one!
Wolfgang Petry – Mr bruche keiner
This song felt like a sensation to me. German schlager legend Wolfgang Petry releases a new song. It is not only praising his home town Cologne, where he was born in 1951. It is also his first song in Cologne-style German. A cool Kölsch-rock track.
Sarah Lesch – Heute
Heute is the new song by German singer-songwriter Sarah Lesch. The song is a calm, thoughtful, very emotional recording. I really love to calm down with her.
Josh Island – We Can Win
I always love running into music from markets which are less frequently featured on Flyctory.com. Josh Island is an artist from Luxembourg. His new song is a lovely ballad, which is also teasing his upcoming album Imaginary Borders (March 2026). A great, hymnic listen.
Tina Mellem & Sam Schaap – Don’t Give Up
Tina Mellem, whose civil name is Tina Mellemgaard released her new single this week. Together with pianist and producer Sam Schaap, she released Don’t Give Up. A lovely, calm song (with a beautiful video) by the Faroese artist.
