Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 7th November 2025)

I had to cancel a trip to Glasgow for health reasons this week. At least I feel more relaxed now and ready for a week of new music. Christmas is becoming more and more present in the new song release. Here are my first Songs of the Week in November 2025. The leading song this time is from Switzerland, though.

Gotthard feat. Marc Storace – Liverpool

After the successful album Stereo Crush, the Swiss hard rockers are going for a “mini album” More Stereo Crush. Liverpool is part of the eight track release scheduled for March 2026. For this song, they teamed up with Krokus singer Marc Storace. Storace also brought Krokus founder Chris von Rohr with him. A truly powerful listen.

Skindred – You Got This

The gentle, harmonic, heartwarming songs is typically what you think of when you think of Christmas and winter music. I would not disagree, but also love the harder rock sounds in the cold season. According to that, Skindred’s You Got This is a perfect winter track. The Welsh band uniquely combine ska, alternative metal and hip hop elements. The song will be the title track of their new album, which will be released on 17th April 2026.

Tailgunner – Midnight Blitz

If you rather wait for the slow, pop-ish, heartwarming songs, I promise you that Midnight Blitz is the last tough rocker on my list. Tailgunner are a rather straight and classic style British metal band, who are working towards their sophomore album. Mightnight Blitz will be the title track, the album will be released on 6th February 2026. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Hillary Duff – Mature

Hillary Duff is working on a new album as well. So far, the release date is assumed being in April 2026. The Texas artist und actress released an appetizer to that record this week – a really nice and catching pop track.

Sarah Zucker – Nie mehr allein

The press kit states that Sarah Zucker is trying something very new, despite her debut album Wo Mein Herz Ist has been quite successful. Her new song (“Never ever alone”) does have a nice schlager-pop presence. Let’s see, how this reinvention will go on.

Bunch of Ace – Mistletoe Glow (My Key To Christmas)

It feels like these Northern German teenage twins more and more draw my attention. This week, they shared two Christmas tracks. I went for this one. If you don’t know Alandra and Alessja yet, have a look into my September 2025 Spotlight interview.

Bine Schmidt feat. Joe Smith – Santa Lady

Equality, emancipation, wokeness – they somehow reach the fundamentals of my childhood universe. Instead of Santa Clause, Bine Schmidt states Santa is a (…) lady. Together with Joe Smith, the Southern German artist is typically forming the duo Schmidtreissend.

Nina Monschein – Kerzenlicht vertrag ich nicht

This song simply made me smile. Nina Monschein states “I don’t stand candlelight” – and sings about a romantic date, which somehow does not have the best outcome. The Austrian artist is also an actress. A fun listen.

Christoph Busch – Wunschzettel

Back to Christmas for another song: Christoph Busch is longing back to the time when he had a Wunschzettel, a wishlist. Busch is originally from the Wedemark region North of Hanover. This impressing narration is just his second single release overall.

They Called Me Phoebe – Bliss

The German artist They Called Me Phoebe pops up on my website regularly. The only major release I featured from Wiebke (her civil name) so far has been the 2023 EP Overthinking. This emotional new indie song definitely touched me. Well done by the Hamburg artist.

Holly Humberstone – Die Happy

I already reviewed two major releases by the British artist Holly Humberstone. In 2023, I had a listen to her album Paint My Bedroom Black, one year later, I checked out the EP Work In Progress. She still feels being in progress of writing catching pop songs, I love her fine new song, Die Happy.

PAENDA – Her On My Mind

The Austrian artist PAENDA has her fourth appearance in my Songs of the Week so far. She released he rhythmic and catching Her On My Mind this week. A really nice song, which stays in your mind. In 2019, she was the Austrian candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Achim Petry – Noch eine Nachricht

Okay, this one is a die-hard, straight schlager track. Wolfgang Petry‘s son simply knows how to do these kind of songs right. And: he is born in Bonn, just like me. How could I not like him?

Alexander Martin – Ganz ohne Erwartung

Another “son of…” is Alexander Martin. He recently had to face the death of his father Andreas Martin, who was especially popular in the 1980’s. His new song is a lovely schlager track, his has a slight ballad touch as well as feels like a lovely sing along. very well done.
