Most of the Nashville bands I feature on Flyctory.com are doing country music. In my block of 4th October 2024 releases, I am having a listen to some other parts of the Music City music scene. The band Justin Webb & The Noise are releasing their debut album on that day. It is named Stupid Young.

 

Justin Webb & The Noise – About The Artists

Justin Webb & The Noise are a Nashville-based Americana rock band. Justn Webb is the leader of the band. The band also consists of guitarist Will Pettus as well as Ben (guitar), Brian (drums) and BJay Moore (bass). The latter three are brothers. All their single releases have been during 2024 and are part of their debut album.

 

Justin Webb & The Noise – Stupid Young – Track by Track

The eight track album lasts 28 minutes.

1. Desperate Man

The album kicks off with fine rock’n’roll sounds. Desperate Man pushes forward with energetic guitars and the speedy drumming by Brian Moore. The song also has a slight touch of blues rock. The debut album by Justin Webb and his band starts very promising for rock lovers.

2. Let’s Do It Again

The second song continues with a nice, energetic rock style. The song feels a bit “wilder” than the opener and thus even leans a bit towards indie rock.

3. Stupid Young

Stupid Young is one of three songs, which have already been released before the Stupid Young publication. The song has a much stronger Americana groove than the two tracks before. Overall, it has a really nice and lyrical flow.

4. A Rose To Chew On

The fourth track of Stupid Young starts slowly, but then creates a lot of power and energy. Again, the guitars are the key elements on the instrumental side of the uptempo track. Nice melody lines on the string side, indeed.

5. The Cups

The Cups presents nice country-alike vibes. The slightly melancholic touch reminds me of former Tom Petty songs. Especially in the second half of the song, Justin Webb does a very impressing job on the microphone.

6. Somewhere Between

The sixth track feels like an international rock track. However, you just cannot deny the Americana touch in Somewhere Between as well. This leads to a very interesting and catchy blend.

7. Remember Me

As the second-last track of Stupid Young, Justin Webb & The Noise share their longest track. Remember Me lasts over five minutes and has a melodic and dramatic focus which reminds me of U2 songs. The focus is clearly on the band’s frontman, even though the instruments also have some space in this listen.

8. Good Enough

After you spent five minutes with Remember Me, the Nashvillians just give you a short opportunity to farewell from their debut album. However, Good Enough is a speedy and rhythmic rocker, which gives you quite some material in 1:56 minutes. The guitars and the bass take the opportunity of having a brief showcase as well.

I really enjoyed listening to Stupid Young. Justin Webb & The Noise present a very nice and diverse rock album. Going for one or two more songs would have been a nice upgrade, as the record itself is rather short. Nonetheless, this new acts is definitely worth a listen.
