Just after New Year’s Day, it was time to head to Sweden for me. Three SSL matches were on my schedule, starting with the Pixbo IBK Ladies on Friday evening. On 2nd January 2026, they hosted Storvreta IBK, a club which I had so far solely covered with their men’s team. I especially looked forward to run into the World Floorball Champions Lara Heini and Celine Stettler again. However, Lara was just the backup in this game. With Ronja Niederberger and Rebecca Oertle, there were two additional Swiss players on court. Storvreta also brought Dutch Jasmine Van der Veen in their lineup. Here is my match report.
This posting comes with a section of 417 major size pictures in the sports galleries.

Pixbo – Storvreta – Match Report
You definitely shouldn’t have been too late at Wallenstam Arena on that day. There were three goals in the first three minutes. Ella Zetterstedt, who had signed a new contract with Pixbo before the match, scored the first goal of the day after less than two minutes, followed by Klara Molin’s first goal for Storvreta and Ebba Bognesand’s one after a Stettler shot from the distance. The match was nervous. Even though the defensive rows managed to settle a bit better thereafter, Storvreta tied the score again in the seventh minute. After a long Kajsa Garpenbeck pass, Amanda Lunggren was left unmarked from short distance and gave Prytz a very unfortunate start of the game.

Especially in the later part of the first period, there were some really good opportunities for both teams again. While Storvreta felt to be well-adjusted to the Pixbo defense and had rather straight attacks, the individual skills of the hosts felt to materialize until the first buzzer. In the 17th minute, a precise pass by Julia Nilsson from behind the goal found Ellen Lundin, who passed Alice Rodenvall. Just 24 seconds later, Axina Pettersson added the fourth goal for the Gothenburg team. This 4-2 was also the score after twenty minutes.
Storvreta stays in the Match
After just three minutes in the second period, Pixbo felt to gain the momentum. Lundin added her second goal, giving her team the 5-2 lead. However, Storvreta kept Pixbo vulnerable in defense. In the 29th minute, Ljunggren completed a fast break, closing up the score again. Storvreta’s fourth goal was another good example for their smart way of playing the opposite defense. Jonna Westerholm simply did not feel any pressure when she scored in the 34th minute, profiting from an Ebba Johansson pass. The match stayed active on both sides with scoring opportunities, but 5-4 was finally what the scoreboard showed after forty minutes.

Pixbo with two Lines at the beginning of Third Period
Pixbo’s staff simply could not be happy with that match. The number of training jackets worn after the intermission showed that they would now play with their two top lines only. Already at the beginning of the period, this lead to remarkable success. Emma Heander’s goal in the third minute was just eight seconds after Lundin had already raised the lead – Pixb now lead by three goals, 7-4. With Alma Kilpeläinen adding the eighth goal in the 48th minute, the match felt decided, the third Pixbo row came back into the match. Lara Heini thereby enjoyed the very special taste of music by the Pixbo DJ on the bench.

After a time out, Storvreta pulled Alice Rodenwall in the 56th minute. There was one very close opportunity in which the ball might have barely crossed the line after Prytz could not control it. The referees spread their arms, though. Pixbo struggled in these last minute. It took them quite a while to create empty net goal opportunities. With 35 seconds left on the clock, Emma Stenberg finally succeeded in that discipline after a Stettler pass, so that the match ended 9-4.
Pixbo – Storvreta – My View of the Match
The score might feel quite high, but the guests played a very convincing and good match. I loved that both teams acted rather offensively. You very rarely saw slow attacks with a lot of passes between the defensive players. With more luck, Storvreta could have become a very inconvenient task for Pixbo, who finally showed their better qualities especially in the third period.
