Flyctory.com Cons
- Valet not working with international phones
The last night, the last show – before I headed back home from my The Last Bigger & Weirder Dance trip, I had a night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I missed that I had two hotel bookings for that night, which I just could not cancel any more. I finally opted for a Marriott hotel, the Aloft Milwaukee Downtown. One key reason was the location right at Fiserv Forum. The home of the Milwaukee Bucks hosted the very last show of Weird Al Yankovic’s Bigger & Weirder Tour 2025/2026. Here is my review.

Aloft Milwaukee Downtown – Location
The hotel is located right at the Western Riverfront of Milwaukee River. Fiserv Forum is a bit more than a block away. The area features a couple of restaurants and bars. It is also not too far away from the key entertainment district. There are also some former industrial buildings around, which leads to a nice touch. My view had a nice, limited view of the river.
If you arrive by car, the Aloft Milwaukee Downtown offers valet parking for a fee of 40 USD. There are also some bus stops around. For example, line 33 stops right at one side of the hotel.

Aloft Milwaukee Downtown – Room
I had one night in October 2026, Saturday to Sunday, in a King Size Aloft Room. The rate excluding breakfast had a two day cancellation clause and was 317.27 USD, including all taxes. My room was facing an interior patio. The room size was not too big. However, despite having two major suitcases with me, I really liked it and the room felt comfortable. A key reason for that was the smart design of the room. The major bench, for example, held both of my suitcases. The work desk had a good size and most of the key equipment of the room was intuitive.

Right when you enter the room, the sink, the toilet, and the shower was to the right. A cupboard split the room into two. Again, the space available was used smartly and effectively. This also implies that the safe and the coffee machine is right opposite the sink. The room was very well maintained and clean.

Aloft Milwaukee Downtown – Food / Breakfast
The Aloft has a major snack point, which rather reminded me of a basic kiosk. As far as I understood, the hotel also serves breakfast there. It has good reviews, but I decided to skip it in order to sleep longer.

Aloft Milwaukee Downtown – Service
Overall, the hotel staff was friendly. I would have loved to receive some more information, other than pool and gym opening times. There were some issues with the valet parking. You call the return of the car via text message. This did not work out with a European phone number. It also implied that I could not pay for the parking, so that I had to re-open my hotel bill to pay for it. It happened already in other places like me. I feel that these things should not happen in major hotel chain hotels like Hilton or – like here – Marriott.

On ground level, the hotel also drives a gym and a pool. Especially the pool is a bit of small, but has a really nice view.
Aloft Milwaukee Downtown – My View
As I had major physical implications at that time already, I absolutely praised the Aloft Milwaukee Downtown for the very short walk to the arena. But that’s definitely not the only positive fact about the hotel. The room design is really smart and combines some level of comfort with a typical city stay. I don’t comment about hotel pricing in the United States – it is what it is. The issues at valet parking with a foreign phone definitely should not happen in this kind of internationally branded hotel.
