Happy Thanksgiving! The international music market is rather inactive this week and people concentrate on commercial interest and family affairs. I had a forth and back between Hamburg, Luxembourg, Trier, and home this week. Thus I had to relax and share my Songs of the Week slightly later than usual on Saturday morning. My list of song favorites is rather short this time.
Frank Storm – Land in Sicht
Not only this song, but I feel that in general, there are quite some good schlager releases this weekend. My favorite is this one by Frank Storm. Land in Sicht is just his second single release under this artist name overall.
Matt & Sem – Der Letzte
The second song on my list is another sophomore single release. Matt & Sem sing in German, but are in fact from the Netherlands. They already drew some attention with their debut single Deinetwegen – this song has a great catch and might be successful again.
Gspiadi – Zwischen den Zeilen
Compared to the first two acts I presented this time, Gspiadi (whose civil name is Gabriel Kazianschütz) is already an established artist in the music industry. At least, the Austrian has already released eight singles before this beautiful German pop ballad. Love it!
Katiuska McLean – Loving Home
This one is another beautiful ballad from Austria as well. Katiuska McLean was born in Trinidad & Tobago and moved to Austria in 2014. Her family has roots in Grenada and Venezuela. She already drew some attention in TV talent shows like The Voice of Austria and The Voice of Germany. It is her third single release overall – there are indeed a lot of interesting new artist in my release radar this time.
katyadotcom – perfect one
Austria is really well-represented in this week’s list of new songs. katyadotcom is the project of Katja Frießnegg. She did that rebranding in 2020 and since then releases fine pop tracks – like this one!
Viic Woods – Not Impossible
Viic Woods is known as part of the band Audrey, for example. The Swedish artist is now pushing towards her solo project Viic Woods. In 2023, she released the debut EP The Water Between Us. Not Impossible will be part of an upcoming album.
Roman – Hey Love
Roman (Ellis) is an upcoming British artist. The preview of this song on TikTok has made over one million views in its first week. Hey Love is indeed a really interesting, catching pop song.
Blisterhead – Wake Up
My this week’s Songs of the Week are closed by the new song release by Blisterhead. The Swedish punk rockers will release their new album Where we belong in February 2026. The new song definitely sounds like a great Wake Up call.
