  • Very characteristic sound
  • Good storytelling
  • Nice album flow

With her 2024 debut EP, Clover County already drew some attention. On 26th September 2025, the US-American artist is going for her debut album. Here is my review of Finer Things.

Clover County – About The Artist

Clover County is the musical project by A.G. Schiano. The Georgia-origin artist is living in Athens (GA) and mixes indie-pop with classical country music elements. In 2024, she released her debut EP Porch Lights.

Clover County – Finer Things – Track by Track

The twelve song album lasts 42 minutes.

1. Anywhere

Finer Things starts with the gentle Anywhere. The song struggles with a relationship. The artist states Oh I love you in secret, I love you out of fear, and maybe I love you better when you’re not here in the lyrics. A fine song, somewhere between country and pop.

2. Sweeter

Sweeter feels a bit more playful than the opener. Clover County states Give me some time and I’ll get sweeter in this song. The song has a nice ease, even though it feels a bit more simple at first sight.

3. Yours Too

Yours Too just misses a duration of four minutes, but it is still the longest song of the album. The style does not change that much compared to the songs before. The focus is on the artists’ voice

4. Midnight Crow

The first tracks were all rather on the calm side, did not have too many rhythmic elements. The more, Midnight Crow is welcome, which moves more into that direction. It also increases the country vibes in this song and on the album.

5. Virginia Slim

The next song on the album is Virginia Slim. The fifth track is also the first of three songs on Finer Things, which has been released before 26th September. The song is very present and feels more intense in both, its country as well as its pop music heart. Thus, I really enjoy it.

6. Blue Suede Eyes

Blue Suede Eyes is a ballad majorly driven by the piano. The title may somehow remind you of Elvis Presley and his Blue Suede Shoes – and that’s exactly what AG Schiano is referencing to in this songs.

There’s a poster of Elvis hung up on the wall
His blue suede eyes so handsome and tall
There’s a microphone stand in the middle of the floor
Three hundred records and three hundred more
In the dining room

I really love it.

7. Angels

Angels is one of these songs which beautifully illustrate the songwriting skills of Clover County. It also underlines the lovely flow of her melodies. This song feels a bit louder and intense and overall has a really nice plot. I really like it.

Send the angels out to the red-eye
Send the angels out to the night sky
Send the angels out for war
Send something to watch over
Cause I can’t keep praying on a clover
That he’ll be alright
Be alright
Tonight
I know he’ll be alright
He’ll be alright
Just fine

8. Good Game

With Good Game, Clover County presents another feature single of her album. The song could be a nice airplay song and also works out to wake up and kick off a new day’s adventure – it simply feels so energetic and uplifting. The fine sound does not change that.

9. Whiskey Cherry

Out of the three feature singles, Whiskey Cherry is likely my favorite listen. The song simply has a great presence and a nice, dynamic melodic style. I also like her energetic and determined vocal performance in here.

10. Cadillac

What would be more American than taking you on a ride with a Cadillac? That’s the title of the tenth track of the album. the song feels dreaming, but also has a lovely fine flow. The vibe rather reminds of Western style music. I like it.

11. Paradise Rd

The penultimate song of Finer Things almost reveals a rocking side of Clover County and her music. At least the guitar is more present and the chords feel rougher. Paradise Rd is a really good one.

Oh I see it
I see it when I get too close
I’m hiding in the life I chose
Distance makes the heart grow fonder
Don’t you know
Don’t worry
It’s all on me

12. Stranger Danger

After this rather powerful episode of the album, Stranger Danger is going for a rather gentle sound. However, the song does have a stronger message. I fear you’re in danger of loving a stranger, it for example states. And this leads

Clover County – Finer Things – My View

I really like Finer Things and it – literally – fine touch. Clover County defined her own style, but varies is it sufficiently, so that it does not get boring. Her storytelling is personal and nice so that her debut album is a really nice one.

Favorite Song: Paradise Rd
