Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice atmosphere
  • Good food and drink options

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Too crowded - even waiting line at off-peak times

After two Weird Al Yankovic shows in June 2025, it was time to fly home. As American Airlines, who took me to New York (JFK), do not run an Admirals Club at Las Vegas Airport (LAS), I felt like trying the Centurion Lounge there. Since earlier this year, I am an American Express Platinum Card holder, which makes me eligible for the visit. This is the second time I share my view of an American Express Lounge with you, after The American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof at Stockholm (ARN).

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) – Location & Access

The lounge is located at Terminal 1 of Las Vegas Airport (LAS), right at the beginning of the D-Gate area (opposite to D1). This is rather close to where the people mover is bringing you from the check-in terminal.

The Centurion Lounge is open to holders of American Express Platinum and Centurion cards. Depending on the card level and the country of issue (US-American cards are more restrictive), you can also take guests with you. Excessing your allowance leads to a 50 USD fee per customer. There are also very few cooperation deals within the United States for access. I visited the lounge on a Sunday early morning, at around 9:00. Nonetheless, I had to join a virtual line and gained access some fifteen minutes after I arrived. The process did not work out well for me as an international visitor. I read that in peak times, waiting times an be in a range of an hour. As you cannot check-in to the lounge more than three hours before the flight (if not on transfer), access to the lounge may be useless for you.

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) – Atmosphere

The lounge is really nice. It features several different areas, some with windows which allow you to watch the airport traffic. Around the buffet, there is rather a restaurant style seating. Other seating options are rather made to work or to relax there. The design feels nice and modern. On the other hand, the pictures also show you the downside of the lounge: it is packed. Even though there were free seats, you might not be able to choose the area you are staying with. The distribution of power sockets depends strongly on the area and is rather sparse at some of the spots.

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) – Food & Drink

I visited the Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas at breakfast time. The quality and offering definitely exceeded my expectations. There was a nice variety of fruit and healthy option as well as some really nice warm breakfast items. The bread section was also absolutely fine.

The bar area of the lounge is a really nice one. There is a limited selection of cold drinks which are available outside the bar. Hot drinks can be grabbed by yourself.

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) – Services

The staff in the lounge was nice and helpful. Also the check-in to the waiting line in front of the lounge finally worked, due to the help of the staff member there. WiFi in the lounge is working very fine. The lounge has its own bathroom, including showers.

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) – My View

The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Airport (LAS) illustrates the key struggle with lounges at US-American airports. The airlines and credit card companies played the credit card game intensively – and now they got to the result. I have been there definitely at off-peak times and the lounge is still full. That’s really a shame – it is a really nice place and I still enjoyed it.
